Penny is upset because she can't understand Leonard's work, so she goes to Sheldon for help. When Sheldon asks Penny why she is crying, she responds "Because I'm stupid." Sheldon responds with the quote above. In the end though, Sheldon teaches Leonard's work to Penny.

At the end of the episode, Penny criticizes Leonard's work (using lots of words, including some words she doesn't normally use). This leaves everybody baffled.

2. "We're putting the play on for one night in this little 99-seat theater. Can you come? Oh great! Do you know 98 other people that might want to come?"

In the season 4 episode "The Hot Troll Deviation", Leonard tells Sheldon the story of how Bernadette and Howard got back together. We all know Sheldon doesn't care about other people's lives, so he asks Leonard why he is telling him all this. Leonard's response is this quote.

In an episode where Raj reveals he lost his job and they might deport him back to India, he says the he will miss beef the most of all. Leonard asks Raj why Indians can't eat beef. Raj replies "We think cows are Gods." Sheldon says that's not technically true and that Indians think cows are LIKE Gods. Raj replies "Do not tell me about my own culture, Sheldon! In the mood I'm in, I'll take you out, I swear to cow!"

While the guys go to Bakersfield for a Comic-Con, Penny, Amy, and Bernadette go to the comic book store so they can learn why their boyfriends like comic books so much. Females are rarely seen at Stuart's comic book store, and Stuart's customers rarely have girlfriends, so when they see three girls walk in the store, they stare for as long as they can. Stuart stands up to his male customers and protects the girls.

Leonard's mother has never respected him. He just wasn't as smart as anybody else in his family, except for possibly his father whom his mother also doesn't respect. She has even less respect for Leonard when she learns he's dating a waitress who dropped out of community college. Penny takes Mrs. Hofstadter to a bar so they can bond. Mrs. Hofstadter gets drunk and she gains some amount of respect for Penny.

She then realizes that Penny's only hope at a decent life is if Leonard takes care of her, so she asks him to do so. Mrs. Hofstadter's opinion of Penny improves when Sheldon speaks fondly of Penny to her.

9. "Well, at least when we do make love, Sheldon won't be thinking about his mother. And yes, that is a cleverly veiled reference to Howard's lifelong obsession to crawl back into her spacious womb."

Sheldon and Howard get into a fight over a parking space that had been assigned to Sheldon but is re-assigned to Howard when he comes back from space. Sheldon hates this change even though he doesn't drive, because he hates change in general and because he is mad that Howard suddenly has more fame than him.

Their significant others get in on the fight, too. Bernadette tells Amy some nasty things about Sheldon, but when Amy responds with this particular quote about Howard, Bernadette runs home. Howard, upon Raj's request, ends up conceding the spot to Sheldon so they'd stop fighting.
