While Ziva, Gibbs and DiNozzo are in the living room with the dead handler, where is McGee when he's attacked by the dog?

Answer: The backyard

McGee has his gun drawn and is standing about 5 feet from the rear sliding glass door when he hears a dog growl and fly out the window at him. As the dog attacks, McGee desperately tries to reach his gun and when he finally does reach it, he shoots the dog once to stop the attack.

The sound of gunshots bring Gibbs, DiNozzo and Ziva running out the back door with their guns drawn only to find the injured dog and then an injured McGee.

2. Which country crooner sings the song that's playing just as Gibbs, DiNozzo and Ziva find McGee on the ground after the dog attack?

Answer: Daron Norwood

The name of the song is entitled "Bad Dog, No Biscuit" and is off the second album released by Daron Norwood. While Toby Keith and Billy Ray Cyrus do not sing songs on other episodes, Josh Turner's "Your Man" is played in the season three episode entitled "Ravenous."

3. After McGee leaves with the dog, Gibbs, DiNozzo and Ziva are investigating the death of Petty Officer Hanson. DiNozzo gives the dog, who not only attacked McGee but is believed to have killed its handler too, a funny nickname. What nickname did DiNozzo give the dog?

Answer: Semper Fido

While DiNozzo makes references to Cujo and Hannibal Lechter regarding the dog attacking his handler, the exact line goes as follows. "It's just too bad, you know, if we had a little more time we would have been able to bust this guy, turn him, and, uh, find out who was shipping drugs to this base. Fortunately, thanks to Semper Fido, he's never going to roll over."

This was, by far, one of the funniest lines and one of my most favorite of this episode.

Answer: Cocaine

While Tony was busy making his dog jokes and Gibbs was telling him to play dead, Ziva strayed in to Petty Officer Hanson's bedroom and found a package of what looked to be cocaine hidden under his bed. After testing it and proving that it was cocaine, Gibbs suspects that Petty Officer Hanson was the leader in a drug-smuggling ring bringing the drug in to the United States.

5. When Abby leaves headquarters with Jethro, the dog, she takes him to the Navy Base and is encountered by a Military Police Officer who questions her visit to the base. What does Abby say she's looking for during this visit?

Answer: Fleas

The scene shows Abby driving up in her classic roadster with Jethro in the passengers seat. When she stops at the main gate, the M.P. Officer asks her if he can help her and she says, "I'm looking for fleas." The officer looks at Abby for a second and when she shows her "N.C.I.S" credentials, allows her on to the base.

6. When Abby stops her car, she opens the door and Jethro bolts for a hill across the street. When she catches up to him, he's digging at something but doesn't see what it is because she answers her ringing cell phone. As she's talking to McGee, what does she see that Jethro dug up?

Answer: Skeletal remains

Abby, who was not supposed to take Jethro out of her lab, has helped uncover a key piece of evidence in the murder of Petty Officer Hanson. Jethro has unearthed skeletal remains of another dog.

We already know that Petty Officer Hanson is dead because of the opening scenes of this episode. We also know that neither Director Shepard or the Secretary of the Navy are dog handlers, thus leaving Petty Officer Erica Pereli as the person who made two trips to pick up Jethro.

8. As the show nears its conclusion, Abby rushes Jethro down to autopsy and tells Ducky that he started coughing up blood. Ducky and Jimmy perform surgery and find something very interesting inside Jethro's stomach. What was the item they found in his stomach?

Answer: The tip of a knife

Once Abby arrives in autopsy with Jethro, Ducky takes an x-ray and he sees the object that is causing Jethro to cough up blood. They operate and remove the object to find that it's the tip of a knife. It is then discovered that the tip of the knife matches grooves in not only Petty Officer Hanson's body, but in the skeletal remains of the dog that Jethro unearthed at the Navy Yard.

9. Who is identified as the person that killed the drug-tracking dog and Petty Officer Hanson?

Answer: Petty Officer Pereli

After finding the military issue knife tip, Gibbs orders McGee to find out who requisitioned a new boot knife within the past 72 hours and they find that it was Petty Officer Erica Pereli. She claims to have lost hers a few days before but the truth of the matter is that she killed Petty Officer Hanson's drug sniffing dog and replaced that dog with Butch, an attack dog, and then killed Petty Officer Hanson while planting drugs and money in his house. Like Jethro the dog, her dog is not trained to seek out drugs, her dog is an attack dog.

10. At the end of this episode, we see that Abby is depressed because her landlord will not let her keep Jethro in her apartment. Who does she convince to take Jethro in as a pet?

Answer: McGee

Abby convinces McGee to look at the big picture. He had been looking for a dog as a pet, Jethro was in need of a loving home, so it was natural to her that she match the two up. Before finally agreeing, McGee has the second funniest line in the episode. He says, "Abby, that dog has tasted my blood and I think he likes it."
