Malcom Hawke, father of the player-character, tragically died a few years before the events of this game. He would later make an appearance as an apparition in the DLC, "Legacy".

2. The family of Hawke soon help out two warriors from a group of darkspawn. Aveline is introduced, as well as her husband. What is his name?

Answer: Ser Wesley

Ser Wesley and Aveline briefly join Hawke's family as they both try to escape the darkspawn. However, Wesley does not make it in the end as he falls prey to the darkspawn taint.

Answer: There is an overflow of refugees.

Families just like the Hawkes are trying to find a safe place from the darkspawn. Fortunately for Hawke, Gamlen Amell, Hawke's uncle, is already living within the city.

4. If Bethany has survived the trip to Kirkwall, what is she so afraid about as she begins meeting the numerous people of Kirkwall?

Just as soon as they began, a tunnel collapse blocks the path forward. Hawke and his group have to clear out a more dangerous route in order to reach their destination.

Even with the possible fate of death, Hawke still manages to pull off this trick. Unfortunately, Hawke's group is still trapped inside the room.
