Evidence that Luxord uses Time is found in his boss battle. His boss battle had an HP bar as well as a time bar, and if he wasn't defeated before the time ran out Sora died.

Evidence that Zexion uses Illusion is found in "Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories". In Riku's story at Destiny Islands he is confronted by Sora. Sora actually turned out to be Zexion.
