Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. The first key in identifying plants from zombies is by appearance. Which being is usually taller than the other?

Answer: Zombies

Zombies are almost always taller than plants. Tall-nuts, which are used by plants to block attacks, appears to be as tall as zombies, at least since the zombies tend to stoop a bit when they walk. Tall-nuts are effective as zombie blockers because they take so long to destroy, thus subjecting the zombies to attacks by the plants.
2. Plants and zombies can be told apart by the weapons they use. Which being occasionally approaches with a pole vault?

Answer: Zombies

While most zombies stumble along at a snail's pace, the frenzied pole-vaulting zombie jogs along at a good pace and uses the pole vault to leap over obstacles and plants. It can be slowed down or destroyed by some of the plant's weapons, and should it make it to the end of a row, another weapon awaits which can decapitate it.
3. Plants and zombies have different methods of attack. In the main game (not the mini-games), which being shoots peas?

Answer: Plants

You wouldn't think that peas would be an effective weapon against zombies, but if they hit a zombie repeatedly, they can knock its head off. And as everyone who has played a zombie video game knows, zombies don't survive very well without their heads.
4. Plants and zombies use different methods to repel attacks. Which being uses screen doors as shields?

Answer: Zombies

Screen doors held in front of the zombies work like armor, deflecting the usual projectiles from the plants. Although the screen door normally must be destroyed or removed to kill the zombie, some plant weapons, such as Fume-shrooms, are able to destroy the zombie while he holds the door.
5. Sometimes plants and zombies are forced to bring out the big guns for defense. Which being uses mines?

Answer: Plants

Despite their lack of mobility, plants have mastered the art of planting mines called Potato Mines. Ok, the plants have help from the player of the game, but they are the ones who benefit from mines. Once the mines have armed, zombies who step on them are blown to bits.
6. Plants and zombies can get a bit aggressive in their methods of destruction. Which being occasionally uses zambonis?

Answer: Zombies

Known as Zomboni, the zamboni-riding zombie is able to mow down plants and leave behind a temporary ice trail on which plants cannot be replanted. Zomboni is immune to most plant attacks, however the Jalapeno can both kill Zomboni and melt the ice trail.
7. Which being, plants or zombies, uses a bucket as a method of defense?

Answer: Zombies

A Buckethead Zombie is difficult to kill with a pea because the bucket protects the zombie's head, and most people know that a head shot is very effective at destroying zombies. Numerous hits are needed to destroy a Buckethead, so a single Peashooter is not the best weapon against it. Potato Mines are effective, as are Magnet-shrooms, which remove the bucket.
8. Sometimes plants and zombies plan preemptive attacks. Which being uses Grave Busters to destroy their enemies?

Answer: Plants

Grave Busters are placed on graves to blow them up before zombies emerge from them. It takes a few seconds for the Grave Buster to do its job, however, and during that time, zombies can eat the Grave Buster.
9. The game may be called "Plants vs. Zombies", but that doesn't stop animals from appearing in it. Which being uses llamas as a defense?

Answer: Neither

This is clearly an oversight by the game designers. Llamas are known to be very protective and to attack when necessary by trampling their target. And of course, shooting peas is no match for llama spit. Animals that do appear in the game include dolphins and yetis (well, this assumes the abominable snowman is an animal rather than a human).
10. And now a tricky question. Which beings, plants or zombies, use lawn mowers as a last line of defense to repel attacks?

Answer: Plants

The lawn mowers guard your home, and if the plants haven't managed to stop the zombies, the lawn mowers are there to run the zombies down. However the lawn mower supplies are limited, and if a zombie makes it to your home, you become a zombie feast.
