My favorite actor is Sidney Poitier. I have read his biography "Measure of a Man," which tells of his family's arrival in Florida and how he tried to obtain acting roles, but was told that he needed to learn how to speak first. Poitier is probably best remembered for portraying Mark Thackerary in "To Sir, With Love." Everytime this movie is on I watch it. Sidney is mesmerizing as Thackerary and how he teaches his students, even though they make his life hell on wheels, and how he finally wins their approval and friendship. It also shows how he teaches them to love their selves and to respect each other and how anything and everything in life can be yours if you try and want it bad enough.

My favorite actor is John Ritter. He, in my opinion was the most talented man to ever live. He was so funny, and his physical comedy was wonderful! He could never ever be replaced. He did so many amazing things, and no one ever really gave him the recognition he deserved! I have four actors that I favor: --Vincent Price --Bela Lugosi --Boris Karloff --Gregory Peck I'm sure you think Gregory looks odd in that list of horror legends, but he's high on my list of favorites. I must admit, the first two actors are more crushes than anything else. But both Vincent and Bela were extremely talented (no matter what any anti-Bela fan might say) and will always be remembered for their roles in the horror genre. Boris was quite a gifted actor, and could play basically anything that he was given. One of my favorite roles of his was that of Reverend Isapod in "Five Star Final", which was pre-Frankenstein. He wasn't exactly a villain, nor was he the good guy. But he stood out in the role for me. Gregory was amazing. He was best as a man with a moral, but he was also excellent in "Duel in the Sun" as a bad guy. As many other Peck fans, my favorite role of his is that of Atticus Finch in the ever famous "To Kill A Mockingbird". He was absolutely wonderful in that role, and it was an Oscar well deserved. The other three guys on my list never won Oscars, and that is a crying shame. Boris did win a Grammy for his part in "The Grinch Who Stole Christmas", and both Vincent and Bela won other awards. But, my overall reason for listing the four men that I did is because of their talent. They were all wonderful and gifted actors. I doubt we will ever see actors of their caliber again. Reply #9. My favourite actress is Angelina Jolie. She is an absoloutely amazing actress (and she tatally deserved that Oscar by the way for those people who keep complaining about that) she is amazingly gorgeous and she is such a kind person. I really admire what she does for the UNHCR and I also really admire the way she isn't afraid to be herself and tell the truth. I'm a fan of Poitier as well...I really liked "A Patch Of Blue". I think Powers Boothe is just a wonderful actor. I also like Ned Beatty and Gene Hackman. Sally Field would join my elite group, along with Kathey Bates, Roy Scheider, Richard Dreyfuss, Dustin Hoffman, and of the modern day Ashley Judd. Sissy Spaceck also touches a nerve.
