My favorite actor is Sidney Poitier. I have read his biography "Measure of a Man," which tells of his family's arrival in Florida and how he tried to obtain acting roles, but was told that he needed to learn how to speak first. Poitier is probably best remembered for portraying Mark Thackerary in "To Sir, With Love." Everytime this movie is on I watch it. Sidney is mesmerizing as Thackerary and how he teaches his students, even though they make his life hell on wheels, and how he finally wins their approval and friendship. It also shows how he teaches them to love their selves and to respect each other and how anything and everything in life can be yours if you try and want it bad enough.

My favorite actor is Leonardo DiCaprio and my favorite actress is Kate Winslet. They are the best there is. Leo is so cute and Kate an inspiration to me. I forgot to mention, I also like John Stamos cause he was cute when he played on Full House. And Ashston Kutcher, because he's kinda cute. Jim Carrey because in most of his movies he is s funny dude. Adam Sandler because he is funny in his movies. Raven Symone' because she makes movies for us kids. Hmm, decisions, decisions. Well I think Ed Harris is great, and quite underrated (I am hanging for him to get an Oscar one day), Robin Williams is extraordinary in terms of versatility (Dead Poets and Good Will Hunting vs Aladdin and Mrs Doubtfire) and in a fickle moment, I have included Sean Connery, due to that rather exceptional voice. I quite like Kevin Kline and Colin Firth as well. I think the female choices are a bit more challenging. Cate Blanchett (in particular Elizabeth), Julia Roberts and Renee Zellweger have been good in a variety of performances, but I don't really have a standout choice. Reply #132. Mar 04 06, 5:19 PM |
