My favorite actor is Sidney Poitier. I have read his biography "Measure of a Man," which tells of his family's arrival in Florida and how he tried to obtain acting roles, but was told that he needed to learn how to speak first. Poitier is probably best remembered for portraying Mark Thackerary in "To Sir, With Love." Everytime this movie is on I watch it. Sidney is mesmerizing as Thackerary and how he teaches his students, even though they make his life hell on wheels, and how he finally wins their approval and friendship. It also shows how he teaches them to love their selves and to respect each other and how anything and everything in life can be yours if you try and want it bad enough.

AS I have said before my favorite actor is Garrett Hedlund! I've watched ALL his movies and read every biography on him that I could get my hands on. I just love the guy. I was just going through this thread and realized that I neglected to add Anthony Hopkins to my post! Losing my mind! Also my all-time favourite male movie star is the late great Dirk Bogarde - not only a great piece of eye candy but the man could act. How anyone can put the likes of Miley Cyrus and Lindsay Lohan, Hillary Duff or the Olsen twins in the same category as actors is beyoind me. They're not actors - they're personalities! Reply #307. I DEFINETELY say Robert Pattinson. No, not just because he's incredibly hot, but of course that is one of them! But also because he is a great actor, especially in the movie Twilight, and he probably will be in New Moon, too. And everyone is just totally underestimating him just because he got one of the lead roles in a "stupid teen movie". wow well i will go with my favorite actor of my generation because there are too many to nail it down to one. so i will go with Christian Bale. Why? the first time i sat up and took notice of him was American Psycho but what really guaranteed my lifelong devotion to him was All the Little Animals .
