Ole' Honest Abe Lincoln had a bartender license and along with a partner owned a bar before he became a lawyer. His partner William Berry managed to drink a large portion of the profits. Lincoln left the business two years after opening, however, his partner Berry died of alcohol poisoning a few years later and Abe was left to pay off the debt!
