264.4 hours. Considering that a week has 176 hours, that's quite a long time.
Randy Gardner (born c. 1946) is an American man from San Diego, California, who currently holds the record for the longest amount of time a human has gone without sleep. In December 1963/January 1964, 17-year-old Gardner stayed awake for 11 days and 24 minutes (264.4 hours), breaking the previous record of 260 hours held by Tom Rounds.

There are reports that this record has been broken in subsequent attempts, only these are not as well-documented as Gardner's effort. Guinness World Records no longer provides information about sleep-deprivation records.

The Guiness Book of World Records (1978 edition) states:
The longest recorded period for which a person has voluntarily gone without sleep is 449 hr (18 days 17 hours) by Mrs. Maureen Weston of Peterborough, England in a rocking chair marathon from April 14 to May 2, 1977. Though she tended to hallucinate toward the end of this surely ill-advised test, surprisingly, she suffered no lasting aftereffects."

The record set by Randy Gardner is the most frequently cited because it is the most scientifically supervised study and was monitored by Dr. William Dement of Stanford University.
