It was a frisbee or flying disc record:
The longest recorded disc throw is by David Wiggins Jr. with a distance of 1,109 feet (338 m).

There has been much criticism about the record and how it was set. Many people believe it was nothing more than throwing a frisbee into the wind and let it carry away.
