It is a style of skiing! Telemark is a cross between Alpine and Nordic skiing. Balance is kept by the back foot while the front foot helps create the path. The style of skiing gets its name from the Telemark region of Norway where it was first started. The style was originally used as a form of transportation before becoming a competitive sport.
