Falstaff in Henry IV parts one and two has to remember a staggering 1,178 lines.

That tally is second only to the principal character Hamlet, who has 1,422 lines.
However, Falstaff would top the list (with 1,614 lines) if his 436 lines in The Merry Wives of Windsor are included.

The article in "The Guardian" cites "The Book of Lists 2," (1980) edited by David Wallechinsky, Irving Wallace, Amy Wallace and Sylvia Wallace.
