Considered the unofficial voice of the Holy See, "L'Osservatore Romano" is published in Vatican City.

The title translates as "The Roman Observer," and while this newspaper is owned by the Holy See, it is not an official publication. It is published in nine languages. It was originally founded on July 1, 1861.
