"The Battle of New Orleans" performed by Johnny Horton. The song was intended as a history lesson.

Strangely enough, whilst Johnny Horton's rendition ranked high in USA, in UK the version by Lonnie Donegan was the more succesful.

There was also a New Zealand version "The Battle of the Waikato" performed by the Howard Morrison Quarter. Here are lyrics.
