I'd have to check number of pages but Les Miserables by Victor Hugo and Stephen King's unedited version of the Stand must be up there. I still want to read War and Peace just to say I have. Reply #103. Apr 05 07, 10:43 AM |

Count of Monte Cristo, over 1000 pages, I think, in the version I read. Cracking read however. Order of the Phoenix The Decameron by Boccaccio, around 900 pages Underworld by Don DeLillo, 800 or so (the best ones at the beginning). The Illuminatus Trilogy by Robert Shea and Robert Anton Wilson, also 800 or so. Never did get to the end of LOTR though. Reply #105. May 09 07, 7:04 AM |

I have read all of the Edward Rutherford books (London, Russia, Dublin etc) and they are mostly around 1000 pages. I got a bit sick of it towards the end but some of them have links at the end which makes it worthwhile. "White Teeth" by Zadie Smith is also a long one Reply #107. May 13 07, 2:24 AM |

I've read "War and Peace", "Anna Karenina", and the King James Bible. Started reading "The Count of Monte Cristo" in college, but I don't think I finished it. I probably had finals or something equally trifling to take care of. Reply #109. May 13 07, 11:46 PM |

"Clarissa" by Samuel Richardson. It is (I think) four volumes and 2200 pages long. It is all in letters. Truly worth reading, I swear it. Cheers, Robyn Reply #111. May 14 07, 1:12 PM |

I read the Inquisitor...it wasn't the longest book I've read, but it seemed that way since it had no chapters (which I'm used to) but it also had no periods or punctuation which made for a VERY long read. I usually try to pause my reading at the end of a page that ends with a period, it was kind of impossible with this one so I often realized I was re-reading a page after I was halfway through that page.
