Ah, I should make my wishes public more often, butter magically appeared after I cashed in my 3 questions. Thank you! Now, on for caramel, another rarity! :) Reply #61. Oct 20 21, 2:40 AM |

I've found that submitting 3 questions makes some of the scarcer ingredients show up. Reply #62. Oct 20 21, 11:06 AM |

LT ~ To make caramel, just take some of the sugar of which you have an hyperabundance, put it in a tall pan, heat it until it turns golden and add a bit of cream and butter to it. Voila! Caramel. Or doesn't it work that way? ~FS Reply #63. Oct 20 21, 8:35 PM |

Well, I could have given you seaweed any time, if you had placed caramel on the trading table. Reply #66. Dec 05 21, 2:10 AM |

But seaweed is no good w/o soy sauce, and I haven't seen that condiment in months. :( Reply #67. Dec 05 21, 5:41 AM |

Yay! Thank you! I'm so glad I read this, I've needed seaweed for ages! Pity we can't trade, I have lots of soy sauce. Reply #68. Dec 05 21, 8:40 AM |

Yes it is a pity. I could also use sugar. I have three or four items that have three ingredients done, but lack sugar!!! Reply #69. Dec 05 21, 12:30 PM |

If anyone else has been waiting for months and months to get hold of some Swiss cheese, today is their lucky day. I cleared three longstanding recipes from my cookbook. :) Reply #70. Jun 19 22, 1:27 AM |

Does anyone know how many ingredients there are? I have 110 different ones, and check the market each day to see if there is something I don't have on offer. This is a waste of time if there aren't any! I could then go back to only checking when I am missing something from a recipe. Then again, I might miss out on a new delivery of fresh ingredients. So much to do, so little time! Reply #72. Aug 25 22, 12:40 AM |

I am 7 shy of you LT, I only have 103 on my page, so cannot answer you Reply #73. Aug 25 22, 1:00 AM |

There are 103 Ingredients needed to make the 400 recipes. Once you have completed your 400 they still accumulate. I have 27 Beef, 22 Sugar... I even have a stockpile of the new ingredients 8 Kale, 8 Mustard and that does not count the 218 uncashed credits for single questions. Really hoping one day i might use them on new recipes. I have 1026 of the 103 ingredients waiting to be turned into something nummie. I recommend that the following be added: asparagus barley blue cheese buckwheat flour cashews chives feta frog legs horseradish ketchup lentils maple syrup octopus papaya parsnip pine nuts (pignoli) plantain plums sausages snails tahini tofu tomatillos vanilla wasabi I'd also be willing to work with trident, bless our originator, in coming up with new dishes into which these various goodies could be turned. Clearly, I counted one of the rows of seven ingredients twice as I was scrolling around on my small screen, so I have 103. With at least two of each, there is really no point planning for trades. But I do have plenty of dishes not yet cooked. Reply #76. Aug 25 22, 1:33 PM |

And today I see them in rows of ten - fewer rows, less scrolling, and no mental arithmetic required to work out how many are showing! Reply #77. Aug 25 22, 1:35 PM |

LOL! You guys with all these ingredients are killing me! I would just love to get my hands on something simple like sugar. And I'm going to come up with a word that defines the feeling of anticipation and then regret/shock when you are SURE you have made a new, unique combination and nothing happens. Reply #78. I've only got one hidden recipe left. What's the best way to find the hidden recipes? Checking the Crazed Chef's suggestions? Reply #79. Aug 26 22, 1:32 PM |

Kankurette, I would keep checking with him, yes. I think the game's been around long enough that you could also crosscheck your dishes with a team member to see what you are missing, and it wouldn't be a problem. As for creating new dishes, it is a possibility in the future, but not likely the near future. I've also approached Terry with a couple of ideas for using ingredients outside of creating dishes, but these are pretty low priority when it comes to adding things to the site right now. Reply #80.
