Looking to challenge yourself by writing some crosswords with...extra steps? Our goal here is to ensure a series of "American-style" crosswords-- crosswords in which every letter in the completed grid is part of two answers, one Across and one Down. There are no 'unchecked' letters. One of those can be found HERE for your reference.
When constructing such a puzzle, it is important to double and triple check to ensure that every word in the grid has a clue, as words will 'fill in' in one direction as you enter clues in the other.
To add to the challenge, and since these are 'American-style', we ask that the word AMERICA sit in the middle of your grid. You can use any size grid, and AMERICA can go in either direction, but the letter R must be in the middle of it.
When your puzzle is online, post here and we'll add it to the list for completion. We're looking for twelve!
