- Quotes must be full, exact words.
- You may change punctuation and capitalization and you can work across lines.
- Each title may be used only once for credit, but titles can overlap or you could even use a subset of a title already used.
- You can use any category or quiz format. You could even make a crossword if you want.
- You can participate via team and co-authored quizzes, but you need to submit a total of SEVEN questions over one or more quizzes to qualify for the badgelet (this is a reduction from 2022 - if two people want to evenly split a 15Q quiz, go ahead!). Or author one crossword, those don't have multi-author options.
- The challenge will be judged like any other title-based challenge, so your title must reasonably fit the quiz. This call is (as always) made by the editor who places your quiz online.
And, because it's all about friendship, there's again a community challenge involved in this but this time it's not about categories - it's about fully completing both songs. Repeated lines or phrases of course need to be covered only once.
Conjunctions, articles and so on are free. "Yeah", however, is not, so it might be a good idea to make a quiz with that title, it could get rid of a few bad spots :)
It's strongly recommended (but not required) that you claim your title before writing just to make sure no one else will use the same title. And please, before you write, check that you're not duplicating something another author is already working on.
The challenge is open until the end of the year - you must make a first submit within 2023. You can of course do more than one title if you wish to help with the community aspect, but there's no tiers on this - you get it for one quiz just the same as for ten.

VBookWorm, Lottie posts the list of claimed lines on the top of each new page, so you can look for yourself, and don't need to ask anyone. If you don't see it listed on this page, then you can claim it. You can also claim words that are part of what someone has already claimed, but that doesn't really contribute to the community project. Kankurette - rossian has already written that exact title. lordprescott - that would be really hard to do, because people can use one or more words at a time, and also titles can overlap with parts of others. For instance - you wrote 'Sail on By', but somebody might want to write 'Silver Girl Sail' or 'By Your Time'. I'm not advocating either of those as especially good titles, just showing how it could work. At least there's a list of claimed and completed titles on each page (unless I miss any) this year. I'd just been thinking that a list of the words still up for claiming might at some point be shorter than the already claimed words--which would be an achievement for our community goal! Suggestion for the list: Sort the titles alphabetically in each group and maybe leave out the blank lines. Things are getting lengthy and it's getting hard to check. I hope I haven't lost any in the process. My tip, if anybody is trying to check a title, is to use the 'Control F' feature on one or more keywords in the proposed title. Reply #138.
