8. What smaller variety of chicken is bred primarily for show, as pets, and for bite sized eggs?

Answer: bantam chicken

Bantam chickens are more compact than large fowl, and more birds can be kept in a smaller space. While personalities vary between individuals, the variety is generally more amiable than larger counterparts. While some people raise banties for their cute little eggs, the diminutive size of the adult chicken limits bantam chickens from typical agricultural purposes.

As such, many are kept as pets and entered in shows for their adorable appearance.
