Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. &

The following is just one way of working out the puzzle. Starting with those lines missing only one symbol, the horizontal line with B2 is an example. In fact it is the only one in this puzzle. The missing symbol is '&'.
2. %

There are no more lines with just one symbol missing at the moment. Notice that the horizontal line C is missing the '$' and '%' symbols. The vertical line 5 has a '$' symbol at B5 so that means C5 cannot be the '$' symbol. In other words, '%' is the correct symbol.
3. $

Having filled in C5, we now have one space left in the horizontal line C. This is at C2 and must have the '$' symbol.
4. %

Filling in C2 leaves just the one space on the vertical line 2. This means that the symbol '%' goes in at A2.
5. %

Although there are no one-space lines currently, there are now four '%' symbols in place. This means that there is only one place left where the remaining '%' symbol can go to satisfy the rules, namely at E1.
6. $

Having found the symbol for E1, the vertical line 1 now only has one empty space. The symbol '$' must go in the space at A1.
7. &

There is no line with a single empty space at the moment. There are also no symbols with just four currently placed so the logic for E1 cannot be employed. Looking at the horizontal line A, two symbols are missing - '#' and '&'. In the vertical lines through those spaces, the '&' symbol appears in vertical line 4. This means that the '&' symbol for horizontal line 5 can only go at A5.
8. #

Having found the symbol for A5, only one space is left on the horizontal line A. This means that the symbol '#' goes in A4.
9. #

Finding the symbol for A5 also left just one space in the vertical line 5, meaning that the symbol '#' goes in D5.
10. $

Placing the '#' symbol at A4 also means the vertical line 4 is missing just the one symbol. This is the '$' which goes in at E4.
11. &

With just one space left on the horizontal line E, the missing symbol at E3 can only be '&' to comply with the rules.
12. $

The remaining space at D3 can be worked out from looking for the missing symbols on the vertical line 3, the horizontal line D or just placing the last symbol. This should be the symbol '$'.
