Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Neigh

Horses have been very useful to humans from the time they were first domesticated many thousand years ago. They help to transport both people and heavy loads across long distances. On large ranches they also assist in herding livestock.
2. Moo

Cows have been one of the primary sources of dairy and meat for people. A cow's milk is used to make many different products like cream, butter, curd, and cheese. Beef is a key source of protein and iron, both of which are essential to human health.
3. Bray

Like horses, donkeys are also used to transport goods and people. Another use of a donkey on the farm is to guard or protect the herd from predators like foxes.
4. Oink

Pigs are mainly reared for their use as a source of food. Many delicious food items are derived from pigs. These include ham, pepperoni, sausage and salami.
5. Cluck

The obvious benefits of having hens on the farm is that they provide eggs and meat as food. However, there are some other uses too. Their droppings are rich in nutrients and produce a good source of organic fertilizer. Their natural behaviours of eating insects and other unnecessary foliage also help in pest control and weed management.
6. Gobble

Many of the benefits of raising turkeys are similar to those of other poultry. They are a good source of food and help to keep insects and worms under control.
7. Quack

Rice-duck farming is a common practice across many parts of Asia. This involves raising ducks on rice fields. The rice fields benefit from the ducks eating harmful feeds and providing natural fertilizer. On the other hand, ducks are able to eat the weeds and other small insects without needing any other specific feeding.
8. Baa

Sheep are raised for both their meat and their milk. Another added use of sheep rearing is their wool. Sheep wool is the most widely used animal fiber in textiles.
9. Woof

Apart from being one of most popular types of pet animals, dogs also serve many practical purposes on a farm. They are excellent as guard dogs, protecting the other animals and able to raise an alarm to alert the humans to any danger, when required. They are also good at herding livestock across large areas.
10. Meow

Cats provide natural pest control on farms. They scare mice and rodents who otherwise destroy crops and feed reserved for the livestock.
