The 1994 movie "Forrest Gump" saw Tom Hanks play the simpleton titular character. Forrest Gump enlisted in the U.S. Army and participated in the Vietnam War. Gump's platoon was ambushed while patrolling in the Mekong delta. During the ambush, Gump ran into the battlefield to rescue injured members of his platoon. Gump was shot and wounded during his rescues.

Virgil Sollozzo and the corrupt NYPD Captain McCluskey arranged a meeting with Vito's son, Michael, in a public restaurant. Michael Corleone shot and assassinated both Sollozzo and McCluskey during the meeting. The Five Families of the New York Mafia started a war after the meeting. Michael fled to Sicily to seek refuge from possible revenge actions by the NYPD and Sollozzo's associates.

The 1989 film "Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade" was directed by Steven Spielberg. Harrison Ford played the titular character. Indiana Jones and his colleagues were competing with the Nazis to find the Holy Grail. After the Nazis shot Jones' father, Indiana Jones entered a cave to retrieve the Holy Grail.

After passing three dangerous tests, Indiana Jones was able to retrieve the Grail. Jones used the Grail save his father's life.

Martin Brody, Quint and Matt Hooper were hired by the town's mayor to hunt down the shark on Quint's boat, the Orca. Both the shark and Quint are killed during the hunt. Brody and Hooper barely survive the hunt and floated back to shore.

Willow Ufgood, played by Warwick Davis, was a dwarf protagonist from the 1988 film "Willow". Willow found an infant princess named Elora Danan in a basket floating in the river near his village. This infant had a special birthmark which prophesied the downfall of the evil sorceress Queen Bavmorda.
