Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Rebuilt the temple in Jerusalem after the Jews had been in exile in Babylon (Ezra 3:2)

Answer: Zerubbabel

When the Jews returned to Jerusalem after being in exile in Babylon, Zerubbabel was appointed to oversee construction of the temple. (Ezra 3:2).

According to Scripture, Zerubbabel was the son of Shealtiel and a descendant of David.

Jaasiel was one of David's Mighty Men who were renowned for their extreme valour and tremendous fighting ability.

Little is known about Jaasiel as he is largely mentioned in passing reference. However, in 1 Chronicles 27:21), it states he was the son of Saul and a Benjamite.

More than thirty-five men earned a distinction as being one of David's Mighty Men.

In some Bible versions, Jaasiel's name appears as Jasiel without two letter 'a's.

Answer: Hassenaah

According to Nehemiah 3:3, the sons of Hassenaah built the Fish Gate as part of the wall constructed around Jerusalem during the days of Nehemiah. The verse says Hassenaah's sons "laid its beams and hung its doors with its bolts and bars."

The Fish Gate was on the north side of Jerusalem and was so named because of its proximity to a fish market. According to an AI overview, the Fish Gate is "often linked to evangelism due to Jesus calling disciples to be 'fishers of men', symbolizing the spiritual act of bringing people into the kingdom."

It should be noted Hassenaah is one of the very few names in the Bible with two double letters as the name contains a double 's' and a double 'a'.

There are at least two other names with two double letters. They are Mattattah in Ezra 10.33 and Ammishaddai in Numbers 1:12. (Grateful to teammate
Christiana2 for such information.)

Answer: Canaan

Canaan is the correct answer. Scripture tells of Ham seeing his father Noah naked in a tent after passing out from drinking too much wine and then telling his two brothers about their father's condition.

The two brothers, Shem and Japheth, responded by entering the tent backwards and covering Noah with a garment; by so doing, they did not see the nakedness of their father.

Later, when Noah arose and realized what had happened, he proceeded to curse Ham's son Canaan.

a servant of servants he shall be to his brethren."

Hanniel, the son of Ephod, was one of twelve tribal leaders appointed by Moses to divide the Promised Land. Also taking part in the process were Eleazar the priest and Joshua son of Nun.

Hanniel was from the tribe of Manasseh in Numbers 34:23.

In some Bible versions, the name appears as 'Haniel' without any double letters.
8. Original name of King Zedekiah, the final ruler of Judah before Babylonian captivity (2 Kings 24:17)

Answer: Mattaniah

According to 2 Kings 24:17, Mattaniah was the original name of Zedekiah, the last king of Judah.

Sennacherib did not conquer all of Judah, but he certainly devastated it. A number of cities ended up under his control although Jerusalem itself did not fall, according to information at different Websites.

Then he was dealt a massive defeat when divine intervention took place with an angel of the LORD destroying 185,000 Assyrian soldiers in one night, according to Scripture. The miraculous event is recorded 2 Kings 19:35 and Isaiah 37:36.
10. Told Paul, "You almost persuade me to become a Christian" (Acts 26:28)

Answer: Agrippa

Acts 25 and 26 tell of Paul, the apostle to the Gentiles, appearing before King Agrippa and making a passionate case for belief in a resurrected Jesus Christ. Agrippa was accompanied by Festus and Bernice.
