The silks a jockey wears are called that for an obvious reason: they were originally made of silk. Each horse owner or stable has its own distinctive silks, which are often brightly colored to make it easier for them to follow the progress of their horse during a race.

Answer: Tim Horton

Tim Horton was born in Ontario, Canada in 1930. He was a defenceman who played for twenty-four seasons in the National Hockey League. He played for several teams including the Toronto Maple Leafs and the New York Rangers. He was a four time Stanley Cup champion and in 2017 was named one of the top one hundred National Hockey League hockey players of all time.

In 1964 he opened his first Tim Hortons coffee and donut shop in Hamilton, Ontario. By the end of 2018 Tim Hortons operated in fourteen countries across the world. Horton died in 1974 in a single vehicle accident.

Philip K. Wrigley saw that people loved to see the arm and leg revealing uniforms, so he outfitted the players in short, flashy skirts, when he created the league in 1943. In 1848, John B. Curtis developed the first commercially available chewing gum. In 1916, the Hershey Company entered the chewing gum business.

Answer: Badminton

Badminton is played with either single players or pairs of players hitting a shuttlecock over a high net. The shuttlecock is a small, light object with a weighted nose and a conical feathered tail. Players may hit the shuttlecock (also known as a 'birdie') only once to return it, and score is counted when the shuttlecock hits the ground or goes out of play.

5. What sport was involved in Jim Marshall's "Wrong Way Run"?

Answer: American football

Jim Marshall was an NFL defensive end for the Cleveland Browns (1960) and the Minnesota Vikings (1961-1979). On October 25, 1964 he recovered an offensive fumble in a game against the San Francisco 49ers and ran 66 yards toward the end zone - the wrong one.

He arrived untouched and unaware of his gaffe he threw the ball away in celebration which resulted in a safety and two points for the Niners. In 2019, Marshall's play was voted #54 among the NFL's 100 Greatest Plays.

Answer: Tiger Woods

Among the options only Tiger Woods was a golfer.

Woods won the award in 1996 and 2000.

Woods first turned pro in 1996, but he was honored for his results as an amateur. He won the NCAA championship, the U.S. Amateur championship and two PGA tour events after turning pro.

In 2000 Woods won nine of his 20 PGA tour events and was second in four more. His victories included three of the four major tournaments.

The four major tournaments are the Masters, the U.S. Open, the Open Championship, and the PGA Championship. Woods won all but the Masters.

He won the Masters the following two seasons to make up for the perceived slight. Between 1997 and 2008 he won each of the major tournaments at least three times.

Matthew "Mack" Robinson held the 100 meter, 200 meter, and long jump national junior college records. He finished second to Jesse Owens in the Olympics. Jackie would break his older brother's long jump record and later become the first black player in modern day Major League Baseball.
