Answer: Zach Curlin

Zach Curlin began coaching the Memphis Tigers in 1924. He remained the coach until 1948, where the school had changed their name to Memphis State College. Zach Curlin street is on the eastern side of the University of Memphis campus.

Anfernee Hardaway had his number 25 retired, and is still known as one of the greatest players to ever play at Memphis.
