Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. With which packing material were Reese and Malcolm entertaining themselves at the beginning of the episode?

Answer: Bubble wrap

At the beginning of the episode, we see Malcolm and Reese calmly sitting at their kitchen table while popping bubble wrap. Reese seems to be especially enjoying himself, as he laughs every time he pops a bubble. When their younger brother Dewey joins them and asks what they're doing, they instantly get the idea to wrap him in bubble wrap and put a helmet on him.

Then, they put Dewey on a homemade catapult and launch him into the air! Malcolm remarks that he wishes Dewey would stay little forever, despite how dangerous this looked.
2. What does Dewey shout during Reese's wrestling match?

Answer: "Kill her!"

The Wilkersons are all confused for an odd reason: they are having a hard time getting used to feeling proud of Reese. Apparently, even though Reese is a troublemaker in every other area of his life, he shows talent and leadership skills with his wrestling team. Reese and his family are shocked when it is revealed he would compete against a girl who was twice his size.

The girl easily overpowers Reese, but he doesn't go down without the support of his family. Lois and Hal yell "come on Reese!" and "let's go son!" but notably, Dewey yells from the stands: "kill her!" After Reese starts pulling her hair, Dewey switches his scream to "kill him!"
3. At lunch the next day, which Krelboyne shares with Malcolm that he has also been beaten up by a girl before?

Answer: Lloyd

Reese is ashamed about losing to a girl, and Malcolm doesn't let the opportunity to tease him pass. The next day at lunch, Malcolm tells his friends that seeing his brother lose was hilarious. The Krelboynes say that none of them watched it because they don't attend sporting events. Malcolm then says he wonders what it's like to be beaten up by a girl, to which Lloyd quickly responds: "it's totally humiliating, you just wanna die".
4. When another student bumps into Reese and makes him drop his tray, what does Reese pour all over his head in frustration?

Answer: Chocolate milk

The Krelboynes are worried because they think Reese will take out his anger on them and become even meaner. The whole school becomes silent when a student accidentally bumps into Reese and makes him drop his food. Instead of taking revenge on the student, however, Reese climbs onto a table and pours two boxes of chocolate milk all over his head as he screams.

At home, Reese explains that he didn't punch the other kid because now he thinks beating up little kids is "creepy". Now, he wants to leave the "old Reese" behind and start over.
5. For whose concert did Hal get tickets at work?

Answer: Jimmy Buffett

Lois was upset because the family could not afford to buy Francis a ticket to come back home for his birthday. Francis is the eldest of their children and was sent to a military academy in Alabama. He had been unsuccessfully trying to persuade his family to get him home because he was scared of what other cadets would do to him if they found out it was his birthday. Hal cheers Lois up by telling her he got tickets for a Jimmy Buffett concert on the same night as Francis' birthday.

Francis does eventually come up with a convoluted way to go home for free, but then hangs up when he finds out that his parents are going to the Jimmy Buffett concert instead of celebrating his birthday.
6. How does Reese's new demeanor end up backfiring on Malcolm?

Answer: Malcolm ends up getting bullied

The school seems to be much happier now that Reese isn't out there bullying other students. One of them even declares he likes to do ballet, to which Reese simply replies "good for you". Unfortunately for Malcolm, he soon finds out that he has been saying "funny" comments to other students that don't think he's very funny. Now that Reese has changed, they see this opportunity to take revenge on Malcolm and do things like shoving him and sticking him upside down into a trash can.
7. When talking to Malcolm in the patio, which of these words is the only one that Dabney does NOT use to describe Malcolm?

Answer: Dumb

Malcolm can't believe that people were only putting up with him because they were afraid of his brother. The Krelboynes then confess that they also don't think Malcolm's comments are funny, calling him "caustic" and "arrogant". Dabney goes further by calling him "bitter, sarcastic, and handsome". Of course, he gets some looks from Stevie and Lloyd for that last word that stuck out from the rest.
8. While trying to be nice, what does Reese accidentally do in a hospital?

Answer: Tells a patient of his terminal illness

In a quest to make himself useful, Reese tries to engage in acts of kindness around town. He first tries to help a reluctant boy cross the street, but he soon finds out he wasn't supposed to do that as the boy's mother yells at his child. Then, Reese visits a patient in a hospital, who is happy someone is there to read to him.

Unfortunately, Reese reveals that the reason he is there is to lift up the spirits of terminal patients. Apparently, the man did not know that his illness was terminal, so he becomes agitated and calls the nurse as Reese flees the room.
9. How does Francis injure himself at Marlin Academy?

Answer: Shatters a window

As his birthday approaches, Francis is desperate to leave Marlin Academy before he is hazed by the other cadets. He can't sleep because he can hear how Murphy is being treated during his birthday. Francis tries to escape his room through the window, but he pushes it too hard and shatters it, causing him to scream in pain. We then see him getting his wound bandaged by the nurse, as well as his white shirt covered in blood.

Ultimately, Lois and Hal decide to send Francis a cookie basket as a birthday present. Unfortunately, the other cadets find out about this and shave Francis' entire body.
10. Does Reese go back to being the school bully at the end of the episode?

Answer: Yes

Reese appears to have been brainwashed by a Brother Billy into joining a cult and moving to Oregon. Malcolm points out how crazy that is, but their conversation is interrupted by Dabney and Lloyd. They ask Reese to become a bully again because his absence created a power vacuum and now there are multiple bullies everywhere. Reese is persuaded because the Krelboynes tell him that shockingly, him being a bully is a good thing, as it would make the school better again. Reese decides to jump in when Stevie, who is in a wheelchair and he describes as "off limits", was getting bullied. Reese successfully restores order at school and returns to his usual aggressive behavior.
