"Drag Race Down Under vs. the World" - Season 1 Quiz

After four regular seasons, a mishmash of international queens joined the Aussies for the first-ever "vs. the World" season headed by down under queens, and on this occasion, we had five "Down Under" cast and six international queens (three from the U.S., one from Spain, one from the Philippines, and one from the UK).

Interestingly, the only "Down Under" season not represented was the second.

Answer: Lazy Susan

"Down Under vs. the World" was the second iteration of the franchise to feature Michelle Visage as the host instead of RuPaul, and the previous time, season 4, had her share the panel with Rhys Nicholson and a rotating past winner (Kita, Spankie, or Isis) depending on the week.

This time around, the seat to Michelle's right is permanently filled by the queen she crowned, Lazy Susan, and she appears to provide her first-hand expertise and modern takes on drag across all eight episodes of the season.

Answer: Raven

Although Raven was brought into the competition as the eleventh competing queen and even participated in the first challenge with the other ten competitors, she and Michelle revealed, in the second week of the competition, that she was actually inserted into the game to act as a mole, spilling the tea on the other ten competitors, without actually vying for the prize.

As the queens dug into the challenge in week two, Raven joined the judging panel, temporarily, to provide added insight, and she departed shortly thereafter.

Answer: Kylie Minogue

After Michelle reveals Raven to be the secret mole and guest judge of week two, she declares the challenge to be a celebration of all things Kylie Minogue. The queens are split into two groups and told to bring their best Kylie Minogue looks to the main stage because, when it's all said and done, they'll look like Kylie while they perform original lyrics to a song chronicling her career as a 'Princess of Pop' or a 'Disco Goddess'. Flor and Art are declared the front-runners of the episode while Art wins the lip sync to Kylie's "What Do I Have to Do?".

She ends up choosing Nicole Paige Brooks to go home first.

Snatch Game hosted nine queens this season as the contestants brought out their best celebrity impressions (or just imagined characters out of nothing, as it were) and tried to match answers with guest players Lazy Susan and Markella Kavenagh. While Art and VYBE made it to the top with their Jane Turner and Bette Midler impersonations, Flor and Nikita Iman plummeted to the bottom, the first for a misguided Rowan Atkinson and the latter for creating a personification of 'Mary Jane'. Art clinched a second win in a row by bringing out her Kath wig for the lip sync (to Dua Lipa's "Physical") and set home fellow Aussie queen Nikita.

The queens were surprised by a design challenge in week four though they knew something was amiss when they needed to bring three pieces of old extra drag from home. Each queen was paired up with one other and needed to claim one of their partner's drag outfits.

Then, they needed to combine it with their other two looks from home to create an entirely-new high-fashion garment for the runway. Art landed in the top for a third week in a row but M1ss Jade So took the win, performing Charli XCX and Troye Sivan's "1999".

She sent home Spanish queen Estrella Xtravaganza to close out the first half of the competition.

"Down Under vs. the World" featured the "Down Under" franchise's first Rappin' Roast, a fixture introduced in U.S. "All Stars" seasons to replace the traditional onstage roast (while adding a performative element). The queens had to bring their best reads to a recording session and then perform them, as a lip sync, on the main stage.

This week Lala Ri won her first challenge, winning out in a RuPaul lip sync against UK queen Michael Marouli. Lala would save perennial bottom queen Flor over Coco Jumbo this week, who went home in seventh place as a result.

Week six put the queens through the rigours of an acting challenge, and after they were all paired up, they were given one of three scenes in a 'Trilogy of Terror'. Michael Marouli and M1ss Jade So won with their take on 'The Sex Files' while VYBE and Flor were believed to have poor chemistry for 'The She-Vil Dead' (and Lala and Art were safe with 'Hell-Ho Dolly').

It put Michael and Jade into the Lip Sync for the World, and both had to perform "UK Hun?" with guest judge Lawrence Cheney watching over. Michael won this episode with that homefield advantage, and it got Flor sent home in her fourth time in the bottom.

For the semifinal round, the final five queens needed to make over five Aussie men, giving each of them the ol' drag family resemblance (or at least a 'drag best friend look') on the main stage, and this time, any queens not in the top were up for elimination. Michael Marouli, who also won this week's mini-challenge and got to choose his partner first, ended up winning the episode after lip syncing against Art Simone (to "Who Do You Think You Are" by The Spice Girls). Michael ended up eliminating Lala in fifth place, matching her personal best standing in "All Stars 8" and deciding the finalists for this season.

With little else to do but get to the end and win it all, the final four queens needed to write lyrics and perform on the main stage to the original track "Get Down". Then, in their best drag, they walked the runway to receive final critiques. Michelle pushed Michael Marouli and Art Simone to the final two based on their track records and performances in this last week, and after the two of them Lip Synced for the World (and the win) to RuPaul's "Adrenaline", the $50,000 AUD grand prize went to UK queen Michael Marouli.
