1. What town do Agents Mulder and Scully visit during this episode?

The fictional town of Bellefleur, Oregon is a reference to Bellflower, California, the birthplace of "The X-Files" creator, Chris Carter.

Answer: Billy Miles

When Mulder and Scully first visit Billy Miles, he is suffering from severe brain damage which left him in a vegetative state. After their investigation, Mulder and Scully conclude that Billy was somehow acting as an accomplice in the disappearances of several young people, all from the graduating class of 1989.

By the end of the episode, Billy is returned to perfect health with no recollection of what had happened. Under hypnosis, he reports that he and his friends were abducted during a graduation party in the woods.

After seven years, he contacts Mulder and Scully, reporting that "it's happening again."

Gary and Richie are looking for evidence from a possible UFO crash when Gary disappears. Richie believes that "they took him." Months later, in season eight, more of this story was revealed.

Earlier in the day, Mulder and Scully visit Teresa Hoese in her home to discuss the disappearance of her husband, Ray. That night, Mulder is looking at pictures of Ray's scars when Scully knocks on his door.

Mulder tells the detective that he did it to "mark an anomalous electrical disturbance..."

Skinner comes to visit Mulder and, initially, discusses the trip to Oregon. Then, Alex Krycek and Marita Covarrubias enter the office. Mulder aggressively tries to attack Krycek, but Skinner holds him back. They discuss the Cigarette-Smoking Man and the spacecraft hidden in the forests of Oregon. While they are talking, Scully interrupts them.

Scully is the first to walk away from the table. She walks into the hallway and Mulder follows her. In the hallway, Mulder tells Scully that she shouldn't "go back out there" because "they are taking abductees." Scully then tells Mulder, "I won't let you go alone."
