Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Performing Bollywood number with friend's intended/ being unable to speak to beautiful woman who is Siri's voice

Answer: Raj Koothrappali

Kunal Nayyar portrayed Raj on "The Big Bang Theory" (2007-2019), appearing in 279 episodes. In the season 4 episode "The Thespian Catalyst" he fantasized about doing a romantic Bollywood dance number with Bernadette (Melissa Rauch), who was not yet married to his best friend Howard (Simon Helberg).

In the season 5 episode "The Beta Test Initiation", Raj got a cell phone with the Siri assistant, and showed signs of becoming enamoured of the voice on his phone. In the episode's final scene, he dreamed that he arrived at the office from which Siri apparently worked to ask her on a date, but his selective mutism kicked in and he was unable to speak.
2. Hunky contractor responds to designer's flirtations

Answer: Marina Hayworth

In "Home Economics", which debuted in 2021, the third season saw Marina (Karla Souza) giving up her previous job to follow her dream of being an interior designer. This was possible in part due to the success of the novel written by her husband, Tom (Topher Grace). The latter became jealous upon discovering that Santiago (Eddie Cibrian) the contractor was a very well built and attractive man, with whom Marina would be working closely. Marina denied any attraction to Santiago, but was unable to stop her subconscious from dreaming that flirtation had led to amorous embraces.

Everything worked out for Marina and Tom, but not before Tom had a similar dream about himself and Santiago! By the next episode, Santiago had been replaced by someone described as "a real uggo", though the replacement was not seen in the episode.
3. Morlock moving men

Answer: Sheldon Cooper

In the Season 1 episode of "The Big Bang Theory", "The Nerdvana Annihilation", Sheldon (Jim Parsons), Leonard (Johnny Galecki), Howard and Raj all pooled their resources to buy a replica time machine, from the movie "The Time Machine", online, thinking it's a miniature version.

When it turned out to be a full-sized replica complications arose and after enjoying pretending to travel in time for awhile, they decided that the machine had to go. Before that happened, Sheldon had a scary dream about the moving men who were to take it away being the evil creatures from the 1960 movie, the flesh-eating Morlocks!
4. Being armless in a lake full of mannequin limbs

Answer: Hawkeye Pierce

Sometimes the comedy in "M*A*S*H" (1972-83) was pretty dark, as was the case in the Season 8 episode, "Dreams" in which most of the regular characters experienced nightmarish dreams based on their experiences of death and destruction during their service in Korea. Pierce's involved his being quizzed on how to reattach a limb and, when he didn't know how, being told to remove his own arms (which turned out to be detachable mannequin-like arms). He found himself sitting, armless, in a rowboat in a lake or river full of floating mannequin arms and legs, helpless to give assistance to a bleeding child or other injured people.

The sound of a helicopter, at which he was shouting in the dream, awakened him to the sound of real choppers bringing more wounded to the 4077th. Alan Alda played Hawkeye.
5. Having enormous feet and being reassured about them in a romantic manner by the boss

Answer: Fran Fine

In the season 3 episode of "The Nanny" (1993-99) called "Your Feets Are Too Big", former foot model Fran (Fran Drescher) worried about the size of her feet, after discovering that she needed a larger shoe size than previously. She dreamed that her boss, Mr Sheffield (Charles Shaughnessy) took her to a reunion of foot models, and when she posed for a group photo, all her friends gasped when they saw how huge her feet had become. Mr Sheffield wakened her, and comforted her by saying how beautiful her feet were, then approached her in a romantic manner.

As they kissed, Fran's mother's voice intruded, and we saw that Fran was still dreaming. Fran and Max Sheffield would get together eventually, but not for another season or two.
6. Taking a scary ride on a Ferris wheel, sleepwalking as a result

Answer: Elizabeth Walton

In "The Ferris Wheel", a season 5 episode of "The Waltons" (1972-81), the youngest Walton, Elizabeth (Kami Cotler) had recurring nightmares about being trapped on a Ferris wheel and unable to get off, in the days before a carnival was returning to Walton's Mountain, after a few years absence.

She began to wander during these dreams, eventually being found one night on that very wheel and in need of rescue by her brothers. It came out that as an even younger child she had witnessed something from the top of the wheel, and when she finally remembered, she was able to help solve a mystery from the carnival's earlier visit.
7. Sitting in a chair with best friend's romantic partner, solving a crossword together

Answer: Joey Tribbiani

"The One with the Cop" was a season 5 episode of "Friends" (1994-2004), which, besides the 'Phoebe (Lisa Kudrow) meets a cop' storyline, had Joey (Matt LeBlanc) dreaming about solving a crossword with Monica (Courteney Cox) in the same way as he had observed her to do that evening with Chandler (Matthew Perry). Joey being Joey, the dream crossword was less complex than the real one. Joey thought that he had fallen in love with Monica, but was convinced by her and Chandler that he just envied their closeness and did not need to move out.
8. Vague dreams about "bad things" happening to friends and neighbours, causing dreamer to think they might be psychic

Answer: Hank Yarbo

Now, Hank (Fred Ewanuick) was never the smartest person in Dog River, but in the season 3 episode of "Corner Gas" (2004-09) titled "Key to the Future" his vague dreams had just enough truth to them to cause the local paper to declare "HANK IS PHYCIC" (sic) on its front page. His best friend Brent Leroy (Brent Butt) took advantage of the situation to play a practical joke on his employee, Wanda (Nancy Robertson) but that backfired before long.

(Watching this episode gave me the idea for this quiz.)
9. Waking up in a seedy hotel with a co-worker

Answer: Frasier Crane

In "The Impossible Dream", a season 4 episode of "Frasier" (1993-2004), Frasier (Kelsey Grammer) had recurring dreams about waking up in a cheap hotel with his flamboyant co-worker Gil Chesterton (Edward Hibbert), in an apparently romantic situation. As Frasier believed himself to be heterosexual, he was confused by what this dream might mean, especially as he'd never been that close to Gil in their working relationship.

In the course of the episode Frasier received interpretations and advice from various people, none of it very helpful.

He eventually figured it out for himself, had one more hotel dream, but with Sigmund Freud replacing Gil and that ended the episode.
10. Walnuts cascading from a closet when dreamer opens its door

Answer: Rob Petrie

In the season 2 episode of "The Dick Van Dyke Show" (1961-66) titled "It May Look Like a Walnut", Rob (Van Dyke) and his wife Laura (Mary Tyler Moore) watched a scary sci-fi movie just at bedtime. Rob dreamed about that the aliens, who looked like Danny Thomas (who appeared in the episode) and only ate walnuts, had taken over all of his friends - and taken his thumbs! When he opened the closet door it was full of walnuts, which spilled out into the room, and Laura (now Lolak) slid down the pile of walnuts to greet him.

When they woke up, Laura told him about her similar dream, and neither one was able to get back to sleep, so they watched more TV!
