Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Gives up to two selected playing cards the Lucky enhancement.

Answer: The Magician

When a Lucky card scores, it normally has a one-in-five chance of adding 20 Mult and a separate one-in-fifteen chance of paying $20. Both rewards can occur on the same scoring trigger. Mult is the multiplier applied to your Chips total to calculate a hand's score. The enhancement stays on the playing card after this Tarot card is used.
2. Raises only Pair by one level.

Answer: Mercury

Each use adds 15 Chips and 1 Mult to Pair's base score. The upgrade belongs to the hand type, so it works with any rank of pair you play later. Further copies can raise the level again.
3. Destroys one random card in hand and adds three random enhanced face cards.

Answer: Familiar

The three new cards are added to your hand and become part of your deck. Their ranks, suits and enhancements are random, so you do not choose the replacements. The destroyed card is also chosen at random. The exchange leaves you with two more playing cards than you had before.
4. Turns up to two selected playing cards into Mult cards.

Answer: The Empress

Each Mult card adds 4 Mult when it scores. That is an addition to the multiplier, rather than a multiplication of it. You choose which cards receive the enhancement, and it remains on them after use. Applying it to a card that already has another enhancement replaces the old enhancement.
5. Raises only Three of a Kind by one level.

Answer: Venus

One use adds 20 Chips and 2 Mult to the base score of Three of a Kind. Playing three Aces or three twos uses the same hand level, while the individual cards still contribute their own Chips. Further copies increase the hand level again.
6. Destroys one random card in hand and adds two random enhanced Aces.

Answer: Grim

Both new Aces enter your hand and stay in the deck for later draws. Their suits and enhancements are random. You cannot choose which existing card is destroyed in exchange. The result is a net gain of one playing card, with more Aces available for future hands.
7. Gives up to two selected playing cards the Bonus enhancement.

Answer: The Hierophant

A Bonus card adds 30 extra Chips when it scores, on top of its normal contribution. The extra Chips are applied before the hand's final score is calculated. You choose the cards to enhance. Their ranks and suits remain unchanged, although any previous enhancement is replaced.
8. Raises only Full House by one level.

Answer: Earth

The upgrade adds 25 Chips and 2 Mult to Full House's base score. Full House has its own level, separate from Pair and Three of a Kind. Flush House also has a separate level and is upgraded by Ceres. That distinction matters even though the hands share some of the same features.
9. Destroys one random card in hand and adds four random enhanced numbered cards.

Answer: Incantation

The new cards have ranks from two through ten, with random suits and enhancements. They enter your hand and also become part of your deck. The card removed in exchange is chosen randomly from your hand. With four cards arriving and one leaving, the deck gains three cards overall.
10. Turns one selected playing card into a Steel card.

Answer: The Chariot

A Steel card multiplies Mult by 1.5 while it stays in your hand during scoring. Its benefit therefore comes from holding it back. Playing it does not activate that held-in-hand bonus. The enhancement can help on later hands as well, provided the card is drawn and kept in hand.
11. Raises only Four of a Kind by one level.

Answer: Mars

Each use adds 30 Chips and 3 Mult to Four of a Kind's base score. The upgrade works with any rank used to make that hand. Five of a Kind has a separate level and is upgraded by Planet X, so adding a fifth matching card does not use the Four of a Kind level.
12. Destroys five random cards in hand and grants $20.

Answer: Immolate

The money arrives immediately, while the destroyed cards are removed from the deck. You do not select the individual cards that disappear. Valuable cards can therefore be lost along with unwanted ones. The effect combines a cash payment with a smaller deck.
13. Turns one selected playing card into a Wild card.

Answer: The Lovers

A Wild card counts as every suit, which can help it complete a Flush. Its rank stays the same. This flexibility also has a drawback: a Boss Blind that debuffs a particular suit can debuff a Wild card. The enhancement does not protect it from those suit restrictions.
14. Raises only Flush by one level.

Answer: Jupiter

Each use adds 15 Chips and 2 Mult to Flush's base score. The increase applies regardless of which suit you use. Straight Flush has a separate level and is upgraded by Neptune. A higher Flush level therefore does not improve a Straight Flush's base score.
15. Adds a Gold Seal to one selected playing card in hand.

Answer: Talisman

A Gold Seal pays $3 when its card is played and scores. That differs from the Gold enhancement, which pays when its card is held at the end of a round. A seal can coexist with an enhancement on the same playing card. Applying a new seal, however, replaces any seal already on that card.
