Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Why is the Arcane Library a mess?

Answer: A fairy messed it up

How magically mundane! The Arcane Library has simply been messed up by a rogue fairy who, as it seems, was only present for mischief of the untidiest nature. When you start the game, you'll have your work cut out for you as every book in the library will be on the floor, often at the furthest possible place from where it needs to be.

The goal is simple: shelve every book and you'll be able to leave out the exit. Do it in the fastest time possible to set a personal best, but most importantly, get into the groove of it!
2. Across the two floors of library space, you have to shelve books in how many distinct sections/categories?

Answer: Thirty-one

The amount of sections is split close to evenly with fourteen sections on the ground floor and seventeen on the upper balconies. While the lower floor sections are more in line with what you'd expect for arcane magic users (topics like Alchemy and Transfiguration and Illusion Magic), the upper floors hold everything from Economics to Romance Fiction to Law-- more mundane topics, often through a magic user's lens.

Naturally, any book can be found anywhere in the room, you'd be hard-pressed to find most of what you need near where it's supposed to be.
3. Across four hundred shelves, you'll need to sort through just over how many total books?

Answer: 3,000

Keep in mind that all of these books fall under thirty-one categories, so you have to sort not only by collection (and each book is numbered!), but by title. Books are grouped in sets of three, five, and ten depending on the title, and the shelves fit the quantities exactly, so provided you put like with like, you're fine. Any properly-placed book will shine upon placement, and this will only happen if you put it in the right zone, on the right shelf (if there are others like it on the shelf), in the right numerical spot.

There are 3,072 books total.
4. At the start of the game you'll only be able to carry how many books at a time?

Answer: 10

It may seem like a lot, but it's magic! Depending on your strategy it might be wise to keep your hands full at all times, running around section-to-section slotting books into the appropriate shelves, but eventually you'll get into the rhythm of (possibly) using magic as an aid, and this might increase your carrying capacity. If you have multiple books in your stack, you can also rotate through them by scrolling with your mouse wheel. If you don't put a book on a shelf, you can elect to toss it in front of you as well, which might come in handy for sorting.
5. There are four chests found in the Arcane Library. They're opened with which of these?

Answer: Keys

Found on the second floor balconies, the four chests can only be opened with their dedicated keys and each one contains either an item or a note indicating a new ability that you'll pick up as a reward. The keys are scattered throughout the library, and some require the use of other keys to reach.

This said, you should have an easy time finding one on a bench on the first floor (likely under some books) and an easier time finding one hanging on the wall above the pedestal at the start of the game.
6. How many items or abilities of Minor Magic can you attain?

Answer: Four

Each of these is found in the chests that are locked upon your first arrival, and while none of them are mandatory to use, you may find them to be very convenient. One of these gives you the power to sprint (using the SHIFT button), one allows you to jump (quite high, with SPACE), and two others enhance your carrying capacity, giving you the opportunity to pick up more than the base amount of books (ten, and that goes up to twelve). You will require the ability to jump to collect two of the missing keys.
7. There are five different forms of Major Magic. You can level them up through which means?

Answer: By shelving rows of books

The five forms of Major Magic, accessible from your menu, can be levelled up quite a bit, but only become available once you've taken care of at least two full shelves of books (all the volumes of one of those shelves should be apparent from the starting location). Most of the spells reach level 10, increasing in capability and improving their reload time until they reach an easy efficiency; one spell levels up five times. Each spell is able to be case with a number key from one to five.

Again, these aren't required to complete the game. In fact, not using them will likely net you an achievement.
8. One item of Major Magic allows you to sort the books in your hands, but by what means?

Answer: By number

The first in the set of Major Magic options, the spell locked to the number one allows you to sort all of the books in your stack numerically, which can work quite well if what you have in your hand is the set of a specific title to be placed on the shelf cleanly, otherwise, you'll have to move around a fair bit more, picking the proper slots on the shelf out of order.

This can work quite well with another magic spell that collects all the books of a selected type, wherever they are in the room, but by that point you may also have levelled up a spell that places all the books in your hands in a section, and pairing those up will make things go a lot quicker.
9. If you complete your task of shelving all the books you can pass through the sealed door to find what as a reward?

Answer: A pizza

Once all 3,072 books are shelved, the blue-sealed door at the far end of the hall's main floor will be accessible and you can determine if you're ready to leave, effectively stopping the clock on your work (and determining if you have a personal best time). Opening the door will give way to a deeper sanctum, but almost immediately in front will be a pedestal with a Margherita pizza on top. Sometimes, the greatest reward is the simplest pleasure (and a job well done, of course).

It will turn out that the Arcane Library was owned by Merlin though, so there's that at least.
10. Completion of the game unlocks a 'Special Stage'. What happens here?

Answer: The books shelve themselves

It's a bit of a gimmick, but if you want to use some special magic to make the job go faster (by hours, really), the Special Stage simply shelves the books automatically. It takes about five to ten minutes to watch as everything lands in its right place without you needing to lift a muscle. One may ask-- 'why couldn't this have happened in the first place?' But then again, if you took on the challenge, you were likely only there to wile away the time shelving those books for the sheer satisfaction of the task.
