Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Before game play begins, the narrator delivers a short speech extolling the virtues of Britain. Which of the following does he NOT claim as a great British accomplishment?

Answer: Stonehenge

Tom Baker, of former "Doctor Who" glory, is the narrator for both the television series and the computer game, and while the opening page of the game is displayed he says: "Britain, Britain, Britain. Cultural capital of the world. The Sistine Chapel: British. Mozart's Requiem: British.

The Great Wall of China: British. But none of that stuff would've been invented if not for the people of Britain. The men, the women, the boys, the girls, and the monkey-children that populate this well-fit country. Let's 'ave it!" Of course, the joke is that none of these things are British at all.
2. The first stop on the tour of Little Britain is Darkley Noone where Vicky Pollard, mounted on roller-skates, needs to be guided through a lap of the park, picking up as many CDs along the way as she can. Why is it surprising to see Vicky on roller-skates?

Answer: She is eight months pregnant

When the game is played in tour mode, the order of the levels is set, and Vicky Pollard is the first character encountered. Despite being eight months pregnant, teenage misfit Vicky is planning a party and needs to gather CDs from the local park to provide some "bangin' choons".

As she skates around, Vicky can be heard uttering catchphrases that refer to her appearances in the television show including, "Yeah, but no, but yeah, but no, but..." and, especially after she has just crashed into an obstacle, "Oh my God, I so can't believe you just made me do that". Players get points for collecting CDs and for performing aerial skating stunts.

In the video clip that is unlocked upon completion of this level, it is revealed that Vicky is in complete denial about her condition, which helps explain her willingness to go flying off ramps and skate along metal railings.
3. In Herby, players meet Lou and Andy who are making a visit to their local public pool. The task is to make Andy perform at least three dives before Lou finishes his discussion with the pool attendant. Why does Andy need to make sure Lou does not see him dive?

Answer: Lou works as Andy's carer because he thinks Andy is a paraplegic.

This level takes up a running gag from the television series. In the television sketches, Lou is always eager to make sure Andy is well cared for, but the moment Lou turns his back Andy hops out of his wheel chair and gets involved in all kinds of extremely physical antics.

In the game, Lou is negotiating the logistics of getting his 'disabled' charge into the pool and in the meantime players have to make Andy perform a series of flamboyant dives. Points are earned for the number of twists, turns, special moves and the size of the splash of each dive. Lou remains completely oblivious to all of Andy's tomfoolery unless time runs out and Andy is not seated in his wheelchair.
4. In Sessex, Marjorie Dawes, instructor at the local Fatfighters group, is busy eating cookies and cakes that have been scattered around her local supermarket. There is a particular thing which Marjorie considers the ultimate diet food and players earn bonus points if they can find her a serving. What is it?

Answer: Dust

The aim of this level is to help Marjorie scoff all of the delicious food from the supermarket aisles without being seen by the Fatfighters who come to Marjorie's classes. If she finds the cloud of dust she will gobble it up and happily chirp, "Dust!". Within the game itself there is little explanation of this, but anyone who has seen Marjorie's sketches in the television series will understand the reference. Marjorie appears in a number of sketches in which she berates her Fatfighters and recommends dust as the ultimate fat-fighting food.

Unfortunately, Marjorie is not very good a following her own advice, and frequently has to conceal her gorging from the Fatfighters.
5. The town of Slut is the fourth stop on the tour of Little Britain and here Letty Bell has a little frog problem. Players need to help Letty squash all of the frogs that are leaping around her lovely home. What on earth made Letty's friends think she would like live frogs as a gift?

Answer: She has an extensive collection of frog paraphernalia.

The scene is Letty's living room, where a hoard of live frogs is leaping amongst the carefully arranged froggy cushions, vases and ornaments. Although Letty is absolutely obsessed with froggy tinkets, the arrival of a box full of live frogs has horrified her and she is about to start squashing as many as she can with her rolling pin. Players earn points for squashing frogs and lose points for destroying anything in Letty's prized froggy collection.
6. At the fifth stop on the tour, players meet Emily and Florence. They have made a stop at the Old Haven football field and Emily is having a kick with the young lads who have a game going. What is unusual about Emily and Florence?

Answer: Both of these

The objective of this level is to score as many points as possible by making Emily kick the ball around the field. At first glance, Emily cuts an elegant (if ridiculous) figure as she stands on the football field wearing a very old-fashioned full-length skirt, a frilly blouse and a lacy parasol. If her rather masculine facial features don't give her gender away, her voice will when she screams victory once she kicks a goal. Emily's cross-dressing friend Florence stands on the sidelines for support and isn't greatly involved in the game, but players can earn extra points by aiming a good strong kick in her direction.
7. In the picturesque village of Pox, Judy Pike and Maggie Blackamore are judging the cakes and jams at the local fair. The goal is to play a "Tetris"-like game until Maggie's stomach is full. What must be done next to complete the level?

Answer: Guide Maggie's stream of vomit to hit as many people as possible

Each time players line up three matching delectables on the puzzle screen, Maggie's stomach gets a little fuller. When she has eaten all she can she begins projectile vomiting and players earn points for guiding the stream towards the faces and teacups of innocent bystanders.

While this is revolting enough in and of itself to provoke a disgusted chuckle, part of the humour is lost for those who have not seen the television show. The running joke in Maggie and Judy's sketches is that Maggie is a terrible bigot who vomits profusely every time she realizes she has eaten something prepared by someone against whom she has a prejudice.
8. In Llandewi Breffi, Dafydd Thomas is concerned that there is an excess of flamboyantly dressed gentlemen on the streets of his village, and players have to help him run them down on his bicycle. Why is Dafydd repeatedly heard to say, "We don't want your sort 'round 'ere"?

Answer: He is intent on being "the only gay in the village".

Once again, the humour of this sketch is most easily understood with reference to the television series. In his sketches, Dafydd Thomas is frequently heard crying "I am the only gay in this village", despite mounting evidence to the contrary. Consequently, in the scenario depicted in the game, he is desperate to rid the village of these men who seem to be a threat to his 'claim to fame'. Players also gain points for collecting copies of "Gay Magazine" that seem to have been scattered about the village.
9. In Phlegm, Mr. Mann is considering the purchase of a game and players get a chance to trial it. What kind of game is it?

Answer: A pirate memory game

This game is the final stop on the tour of Little Britain and is not unlocked until players have completed all of the previous levels at the easy, medium and hard settings. The zany cartoons of pirates that leap out from behind palm tress and lighthouses are enough to get a bit of a laugh, but the joke in this level is also a reference to a Mr. Mann sketch from the first season of the "Little Britain" television series.

The pirate memory game appearing in the computer game is called "Pieces of Eight", which is also the name of the game offered to Mr. Mann in the sketch where he enters a toy shop and asks about such a product.

He ends up rejecting the game on the basis that he "wanted something a little less piratey". It is part of a series of sketches where Mr. Mann enters a shop and asks for ridiculously specific items.
10. Besides all of the main characters that players meet during their tour of Little Britain, some other characters from the television series make brief cameo appearances. Which of the following is NOT seen during game play in "Little Britain: the PC Game"?

Answer: Vicky Pollard's nemesis, Jackie

Myfanwy is a character who regularly appears in sketches with Dafydd Thomas in the "Little Britain" television series, and in the Llandewi Breffi level of the game she is standing outside the local pub. If Dafydd slows down and rides close to her, she will give him a drink. In the Sessex level, both male and female characters from Marjorie Dawes' Fatfighters class appear. Marjorie can either avoid them or sneak up behind them so that she can lecture them about their eating habits. In Darkley Noone, the level featuring Vicky Pollard, she is the only character featured. Jackie is a character who appears as Vicky's nemesis in one of the television sketches, but she isn't in the game.

There ends this tour of "Little Britain: the PC Game", I hope you got a few laughs along the way.
