Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Metatron is unsurprisingly immune to Light, Dark and Ailments. Unlike Fiends before him, he has a resistance. What does Metatron resist?

Answer: Magic in general

All forms of magic will do much less damage and have a much lesser chance of activating applicable side effects against Metatron.
2. The player would do well to pack plenty of protect against Light, as Metatron will be sure to make use of a classic skill he brings with him to every single game he appears in. What instakill spell does Metatron have?

Answer: Mahamaon

The very first "Shin Megami Tensei" game ever came out in 1992. All the way from that point up to the remaster of "Personas" three and four in 2023, Metatron has appeared in every single game. In every one of those games, Metatron's usage of Mahamaon is the one thing he has kept with him in every single one of his appearances. Even "Persona 5 Strikers", which almost entirely did away with insta kill spells, still gave Metatron this move and stuck him at the end of the game's final dungeon as a 'secret boss' of sorts.

Because of this reputation, players who realize they are set to fight Metatron will likely be conditioned to pack countermeasures to Mahamaon if they have any significant experience with the rest of the franchise.
3. During his first phase, Metatron can only deal damage in two ways. One of them is a basic attack. The other is an equally iconic skill to his insta kill power, and threatens the player just as much if not more. What spell does Metatron have access to?

Answer: Megidolaon

Megidolaon is pretty much a staple for a major enemies in this franchise, so it comes as little surprise that a being such as Metatron gets it here. Similarly to Mahamaon, Metatron just about always has this skill on him when he appears across this franchise, only it's not a literal 100% of the franchise this time. Metatron did have to go without the move in "Shin Megami Tensei: Imagine", "Shin Megami Tensei IV" and "Persona Q2 Cinema of the Labyrinth".

But he has the move in all of his other appearances.
4. When appearing to the player in a cutscene, Metatron will talk about the player defeating ten Fiends before him to claim ten menorahs. How does he label this action?

Answer: Sinful

Despite having not appeared even indirectly to this point of the game, Metatron will claim that he has warned the player several times against the deed of fighting Fiends and collecting menorahs. He will tell the player they have committed a "grave sin" and this essentially becomes his motivation for fighting them.
5. Debuting (for an enemy) in this fight is a nasty debuff the player will really want to have an answer for, or the fight can turn ugly quickly. What debuff is Metatron packing?

Answer: Debilitate

Debilitate reduces all stats by one stage of all enemies when it is cast. This means the player and their team will deal less damage, take more damage, have their attacks become more likely to miss and become virtually never able to dodge anything Metatron uses, including his insta kill Mahamaon. Clearly this is very bad, and the player must endeavor to remove or mitigate Debilitate promptly.
6. Being an end game boss, it's hardly surprising the player needs to be a massive level to recruit Metatron. What level is this?

Answer: 95

95 is the highest level requirement for a demon in the entire game. By this point, it's possible the player has their end game team fully finished anyway, but if they happen to not have done so, Metatron is clearly powerful enough to expedite or finish the process.
7. Metatron's exclusive skill is Fire of Sinai. Apart from simply deal a ton of damage, what does this skill do?

Answer: Nothing

Fire of Sinai is quite simply Megidolaon, but very slightly stronger. It may be viewed as somewhat anticlimactic that there isn't a flashy animation or perhaps an interesting side effect akin to Beelzebub's Death Flies or Mother Harlot's Death Lust. At least the skill is doubtlessly effective. Owing to its Almighty damage output, it cannot be resisted or nullified, and given that it's clearly quite powerful, it's very spammable.
8. Dungeon crawls with Metatron are effortless, as he can regain all lost HP and MP after every battle with what passive skill?

Answer: Victory Cry

Victory Cry has been in every single game in the franchise, and it usually gets stuffed onto a handful of really powerful demons or Personas late game. That's more or less the case in this game, with Metatron receiving the skill.
9. Metatron has the honor of possessing the game's highest initial Magic stat upon acquisition. What is his Magic stat when initially recruited?

Answer: 34

A 34 edges out Trumpeter and Beelzebub's 31s for highest mark in the entire game. It's just six points short of the cap at 40.
10. In order to create Metatron, a Full Kagutsuchi is required and the player needs a Tyrant fusion. That's not all, however: when the Minister asks the player if they want to include a third demon for sacrifice, they must say yes and, to obtain Metatron, that third demon absolutely must be who?

Answer: Michael

The other two demons can be any of the player's choosing, provided that they result in a Tyrant fusion. However, in order to get Metatron, the player must choose Michael as their third sacrifice.

The player should not fret at first, as the fusion will initially tell them they're about to create Trumpeter. Trumpeter's conditions are a Tyrant fusion on a full Kagutsuchi, just like Metatron. However, when selecting specifically Michael for the third demon in the fusion, the game will then properly inform the player that they're about to create Metatron instead of Trumpeter.
