"Tomb Raider II" was originally released in October 1997 in the US and November 1997 in the UK. The game was made available for the PC, Mac, and PlayStation platforms. The game consisted of over eighteen levels and had forty-eight secrets within them.

In "Tomb Raider II", Lara Croft returns to solve the puzzle of the Dagger of Xian. Anybody who finds this fabled dagger will gain unimaginable power, according to an old Chinese tradition, but only if they have the courage to thrust it deep into their own hearts. Lara's adventure starts near the Great Wall of China, but before long, she is exploring the globe in search of hints that will lead her to her ultimate goal. However, she is not the only one on this quest; others with an intense obsession for the dagger are also involved in this new adventure, as she goes from the isolated alpine peaks of Tibet to the canals of Venice and even to the depths of the sea; warrior monks and fanatical cult members plot against her.

The first level takes place at the Great Wall in China. The next level is in the city of Venice, where there are three levels: Venice, Bartoli's Hideout and the Opera House. Next on the list is Rig and Maria Doria, which has six levels: Offshore Rig, Diving Area, Fathoms, Wreck of the Maria Doria, Living Quarters, and The Deck. There are three more levels to complete the game; the last and final level of the game takes place in England and is called Home Sweet Home.

At the end of the game, Lara is back at her mansion in England. She has the Dagger of Xian but is attacked by Bartoli's henchmen. As expected, Lara has no trouble in beating the intruders.

A few of the characters in the game are Marco Bartoli (the main villain of the game) and Gianni Bartoli (the father of Marco Bartoli), Eros (a member of the Fiamma Nera) and Brother Chan (a monk from Barkhang).

Here we also have a few of the enemies Lara meets on her travels. Barracudas, scuba divers, the Guardian of the Talion, snowmobilers and a yeti. Overall, a good game and will give hours of fun.
