From Quiz The Voyage of the Dawn Treader

Answer: trying to enlist in the army

We see Edmund standing in line at a recruitment office. When he reaches the front of the line he presents papers with a false name to an officer who openly questions his age. As Edmund insists that he is old enough, Lucy sticks her head through the door and calls to him, by his right name, to come help with the groceries. Needless to say he doesn't get accepted in the army!

3. What kind of fox was Mr. Fox?

From Quiz "The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe" - Mr. Fox

Red foxes are the most common kind of foxes. Mr. Fox had all the markings that red foxes have. He had reddish-brown fur, black paws, and a white belly and white-tipped tail. Like in real life, the fox and the wolves were enemies in the movie. Rupert Everett provided the voice for Mr. Fox.

5. Why were the four children staying at Professor Kirke's mansion in Coombe Halt?

From Quiz "The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe" (2005)

Answer: They were evacuated because of the bombing.

The opening scenes of the movie show how horrible life was for everyone during the Battle of Britain, in the Second World War. Many children were evacuated to country homes, where they would be at less risk from falling bombs. Families being asked to provide shelter for these children seldom had any choice in the matter.

9. Who enters Narnia, when the unusual summons arrives?

From Quiz The Voyage of the Dawn Treader

Answer: Edmund, Lucy and Eustace

Lucy and Edmund are staying with relatives. Unfortunately this involves living with their very obnoxious cousin, Eustace. Eustace resents them being there, and doesn't let them forget that they are merely guests in his home, in which he can do as he pleases. He and Edmund are particularly antagonistic. which is difficult since they must share a room.

10. Whose side was Mr. Fox on?

From Quiz "The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe" - Mr. Fox

Answer: He was on Aslan's side.

Mr. Fox was one of the few animals that had gotten to speak with Aslan. Mr. Beaver was very suprised when he heard that he had gotten to see Aslan. Mrs. Beaver asked, "What is he like?". Mr. Fox answered, "Like everything we have ever heard. He'll be a good help fighting the White Witch.".

11. Where did the Pevensie kids get off the train?

From Quiz Into The Wardrobe

Answer: Coombe Halt

The story was set during World War II, when the Germans were bombing London. It was during this time that they allowed children refugees to travel to the countryside to escape war-ravaged London. The Pevensie kids took the train and, seemingly, were the last to get off, which indicated that they traveled the farthest. They were sent to live with Professor Kirke and Mrs. Macready.

12. What wonderful steed did Peter ride into battle?

From Quiz "Narnia" - Battling the Witch's Army

Answer: a white unicorn

Because Aslan had offered himself in sacrifice, in exchange for Edmund's life, he was not there when the battle began. Due to the prophecy, the centaur assumed that Peter would naturally take Aslan's role at the head of the army, and Peter reluctantly agreed. While watching the witch approach, Peter was mounted on a beautiful white unicorn. The unicorn obviously carried him willingly, as no bridle or saddle was necessary as Peter rode into battle.

13. What is the weather like in Narnia when the story begins?

From Quiz The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe

Answer: Snowy

The White Witch has cast a spell to make it always winter in Narnia.

14. What is Edmund's favorite food?

From Quiz Narnia - "The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe"

Answer: Turkish delight

The White Witch used Turkish delight to lure Edmund to her castle. He asked for some when they first met. She told him that she would give him plenty if she visits him with his brother and sisters. She was planning to kill them.

15. How do they get into Narnia?

From Quiz The Voyage of the Dawn Treader

Answer: through the picture on the wall

A picture on the wall is mostly of the sea, with a sailing ship off on the horizon. As Edmund and Eustace fight, Lucy calls their attention to the fact that the waves in the picture are moving and the ship is getting closer. Eustace, who has been mocking them about their belief in Narnia, pulls the picture off the wall and the water tips out into the room, until the room is filled, and they end up in the water beside the ship. Men dive off of the ship to rescue them.

16. What did "Aslan himself" ask Mr. Fox to do?

From Quiz "The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe" - Mr. Fox

Answer: He asked him to gather troops.

After Mr. Fox helped the children and beavers, he told them that he did not have time to stay and let his wounds heal. Susan asked, "You're leaving?". He replied, "It has been a pleasure, my Queen. I have been asked by Aslan, himself, to gather more troops.". Later in the movie, after one of the wolves caught Mr. Fox, he told the White Witch that he found the fox gathering troops near Sharwood Forest.

17. What was the name of the Pevensie kids' mother?

From Quiz Into The Wardrobe

Answer: Helen

Lucy mentioned her mother's name when Mr. Tumnus asked her, "Are you a Daughter of Eve?" and she replied, "Well, my mother's name is Helen." Mrs. Pevensie was played by Judy McIntosh. Jadis was the White Witch's real name and it was mentioned only once in the movie, when Peter read Mr. Tumnus' warrant of arrest. In Narnia, female humans were called Daughters of Eve while male humans were called Sons of Adam, so I hope you didn't get confused there.

18. Both Peter and Edmund carried shields into battle. What did Peter's look like?

From Quiz "Narnia" - Battling the Witch's Army

Answer: silver with a red lion

The lion obviously represented Aslan. However, the 'lion rampant' (standing on its high legs), has historically been a British emblem. It is currently the symbol that is on one of the two Scottish flags (the other being the Cross of St. Andrew). It was incorporated into the British Coat of Arms when Scotland and England first shared a king, James the First, in 1603. Edmund's shield was red and gold with a lion's head, which is difficult to see in the movie.

21. When the children and the beavers first met Mr. Fox, why didn't they trust him?

From Quiz "The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe" - Mr. Fox

Answer: Because he looked a lot like their enemy.

When Mr. Beaver saw the fox, he said, "Stand still there traitor.". Mr. Fox told them to relax because he was one of the good guys. Mr. Beaver said that he looked a lot like one of the bad guys, which were the wolves. Mr. Fox replied, "An unfortunate family resemblance, but we can discuss family breeding later. Right now we need to move.".

22. What was the last thing that Lucy said that convinced Mr. Tumnus to return her back to the lamppost?

From Quiz Into The Wardrobe

Answer: "I thought you were my friend."

When Mr. Tumnus was apologizing for kidnapping her, Lucy said in disbelief, "I thought you were my friend." In the next scene, Mr. Tumnus was accompanying Lucy back to the lamppost where he first met her. Although she did say, "You're the nicest Faun I've ever met," it wasn't that which prodded Mr. Tumnus into returning her.

23. What creatures pulled the Queen's chariot into battle?

From Quiz "Narnia" - Battling the Witch's Army

Answer: polar bears

The white witch's predilection for eternal winter was obvious in her choice of creatures to pull her various carriages. She used white reindeer to pull her sleigh, and white polar bears to pull her chariot into battle. It was interesting to note which animals fought on which side of the battle. For example, cheetahs fought with Aslan's army, while tigers fought on the side of the queen. A rhinoceros, stereo-typically depicted as being bad tempered and evil, fought on the side of our friends.

24. In the palace of the White Witch, Edmund notices that there are many animals that have apparently turned to stone. He does not have time to sneak around for long, however, as he is soon captured by a group of animals of which species?

From Quiz 'Narnia': Part III

Answer: Wolves

These are the White Witch's secret wolf police, led by the evil Maugrim. Edmund is taken to the White Witch, where he is interrogated. He will soon find himself incarcerated in her frigid jail.

25. Who does Lucy meet the first time she goes to Narnia?

From Quiz The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe

Answer: Mr. Tumnus

She meets a friendly faun (a half-man, half-goat creature) who takes her back to his cave for tea, and lulls her to sleep with intentions to turn her over to the White Witch.

26. What is the White Witch's name?

From Quiz Narnia - "The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe"

Answer: Jadis

The announcement of the White Witch at Aslan's camp: "All hail Jadis, Queen of Narnia".

27. No one understands why Lucy and Edmund have been summoned, since there is no war in Narnia and they are only supposed to be summoned in times of need. Caspian is, however on a quest. What is he looking for?

From Quiz The Voyage of the Dawn Treader

Answer: the seven lost Lords of Narnia

Caspian explains how sensing danger, his father had sent his seven closest friends away across the sea. Shortly after that Caspian's uncle made his play for power. The seven Lords had never been seen or heard from since. Taking advantage of the time of peace, Caspian has set out on a voyage to find out what happened to them.

28. What did the wolves say they would do if Mr. Fox told them where the humans were?

From Quiz "The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe" - Mr. Fox

Answer: They said that they would spare his life.

As the wolves approached him, Mr. Fox said, "Greetings, gents. Lost something have we?". Maugrim, the leader of the wolves, said, "Don't patronize me! I know where your allegiance lies. We're looking for some humans.". Mr. Fox replied, "Humans? Here in Narnia? That's a valuable bit of information, don't you think?". Maugrim told him, "Your reward is your life. It's not much, but still...".

29. In the war with the White Witch, what was Peter's first line of attack?

From Quiz Into The Wardrobe

Answer: Gryphons dropping stones

I loved that shot, when the camera showed the Gryphons from the air dropping heavy stones to the enemy. It closely resembled the opening shot of the German planes bombing London. I think it was a great move on Peter's part, although I do wonder what happened to the Gryphons afterwards. We don't really see them in the thick of the battle. In fact, we only see a few of them (2, actually) when the battle has relocated to the rocky area at the side of the open field.

30. What was the Queen wearing around her neck when she rode into battle?

From Quiz "Narnia" - Battling the Witch's Army

Answer: Aslan's mane

When the Queen demanded Edmund's life, as allowed to her by the ancient magic of Narnia, Aslan offered himself up in sacrifice in exchange. When he went to the stone table to be sacrificed, the Queen had him bound and had his mane shaved to humiliate him, before killing him. She wore this into battle, as a symbol of her triumph over him. She was shocked when he returned to life (mane intact) due to the selflessness of his sacrifice and his purity of soul.
