Matt follows in his father's footsteps by studying journalism, but is expelled two months before graduation as drugs are found with his belongings. They belong to his room mate, Jeremy Van Holden who gives Matt money to take the fall for him.

Jeremy is in a restaurant with some city boys and he gets up to go into the bathroom. When he gets in there he goes into a cubicle and we see him get out some cocaine. When he sniffs it Matt bursts through the door. What I would like to know is why he doesn't lock the cubicle door?

The proud GSE like to show the other firms who is the best by fighting... a lot! Every football team in Europe has a firm, some have two. They like to have a good reputation amongst other firms, so this leads to fighting and football hooliganism. Football Hooliganism is a disorder among football fans around the time of a football match. Some of this is spontaneous, but where firms are concerned it is organised, as they arrange meetings between other firms to fight it out.

Jeremy is wearing a blue jumper and pink shirt when we see him first. He is talking on the phone, trying to make some sort of deal, when he gives Matt the $10,000 for keeping quiet. Matt refuses to take the money though, because money cannot make up for being expelled from Harvard.

The major was the infamous leader of the GSE firm but left when he found himself a wife to settle down with. He then passed the leadership to his brother Pete Dunham to continue the GSE.

The pub is Pete's ground; it is where the firm meets. On match day the pub is bursting with people, then all of the people from the pub walk down to the football ground to watch the match. At the end of the film we find out that the barman was the Major's right hand man when he was head of the firm.

Pete is the leader of the GSE firm who takes Matt under his wing and shows him the world of football violence. Pete is played by the wonderful Charlie Hunnam who starred alongside the likes of Jude Law and Nicole Kidman in "Cold Mountain".

Tommy Hatcher, played by Geoff Bell, is the violent leader of the Millwall firm (NGO) known for their rivalry with the GSE. Hatcher's son was killed during a fight with the GSE and this fuelled his hatred for them.

Bovver is just trying to cause trouble when he goes and shouts at the other team's supporters. The rest of the firm think that it is great though. When the game is over the others meet Bovver outside of the football ground. He has obviously been kicked out of the grounds.

The GSE pretend they are a film company shooting a new film to get past the Manchester United fans waiting for them at Manchester Station. They then surprise them by jumping out of the back of the van and starting to fight.

Steve Dunham is Pete's brother. He is the founder of the GSE. Near the end of the film he nearly dies, but right at the very end it is Pete who actually dies. The Major is mentioned right the way through the film but we never actually find out until the end of the film.

Matt's dad is a journalist and when one of the GSE see him go into 'The Times' they think that he is an undercover journalist. When they find his journal Bovver thinks that he is writing to the newspapers about them, but actually it is just a diary.
