Elijah plays Matt Buckner, a high achieving student who is unfairly expelled from Harvard and travels to London, where he is introduced to the world of football violence.

Matt follows in his father's footsteps by studying journalism, but is expelled two months before graduation as drugs are found with his belongings. They belong to his room mate, Jeremy Van Holden who gives Matt money to take the fall for him.

The GSE firm are fierce supporters of West Ham United. West Ham is a London based team which plays at Upton Park on Green Street, London. They are nicknamed "The Hammers" or "The Irons" as they used to be called Thames Iron Works FC. They have been around since 1895!

The proud GSE like to show the other firms who is the best by fighting... a lot! Every football team in Europe has a firm, some have two. They like to have a good reputation amongst other firms, so this leads to fighting and football hooliganism. Football Hooliganism is a disorder among football fans around the time of a football match.

Some of this is spontaneous, but where firms are concerned it is organised, as they arrange meetings between other firms to fight it out.

Answer: The Major

The major was the infamous leader of the GSE firm but left when he found himself a wife to settle down with. He then passed the leadership to his brother Pete Dunham to continue the GSE.

Pete is the leader of the GSE firm who takes Matt under his wing and shows him the world of football violence.
Pete is played by the wonderful Charlie Hunnam who starred alongside the likes of Jude Law and Nicole Kidman in "Cold Mountain".

Answer: Tommy Hatcher

Tommy Hatcher, played by Geoff Bell, is the violent leader of the Millwall firm (NGO) known for their rivalry with the GSE. Hatcher's son was killed during a fight with the GSE and this fuelled his hatred for them.

The GSE pretend they are a film company shooting a new film to get past the Manchester United fans waiting for them at Manchester Station. They then surprise them by jumping out of the back of the van and starting to fight.

Answer: Teacher

Surprisingly Pete teaches primary school children P.E and History during the day and saves his fighting with the GSE for the weekends.

Answer: Stand your ground and fight

Right at the end of the film we are told that Pete Dunham's life taught Matt there is a time to stand his ground and Pete's death taught him there is a time to walk away.
