What a fabulous debut... #1 for five weeks! The 4 Seasons next hit "Big Girls Don't Cry" duplicated the feat. Some quibblers might note that the Four Seasons actually had a #62 charting song in 1956 entitled "You're The Apple Of My Eye". However, the group at the time was called the Four Lovers. Before that, they were known as the Variatones. However, in the intervening six years, there were personel changes and a lot of club dates before they became an "overnight success" in 1962. The final, and successful, lineup was formed in 1961 and included Frankie Valli, Bob Gaudio, Nick Massi and Tommy DeVito.
