Answer: the twist & twist

Chubby Checker forever linked with 'The Twist', a record that holds the honour of being the only single to have topped the Hot 100 twice in two separate chart runs - September 1960 and January 1962. *Useless information* There is so much information on Chubby Checker and 'The Twist' so just a couple of snippets. Chubby Checker is the only performer to have five albums showing in the top 12 of the Billboard 100 album charts at the same time. Bet you thought that Chubby Checker invented the twist. You would be wrong. 'The Twist' was a cover version of a recording by Hank Ballard and the Midnighters, this was released as a 'B' side in 1959 and reached number 38 in the charts. in about 1844 a popular song was entitled ' The Grapevine Twist'. From Quiz 1962 Lyric Questions - Part II

Answer: Sherry

What a fabulous debut... #1 for five weeks! The 4 Seasons next hit "Big Girls Don't Cry" duplicated the feat. Some quibblers might note that the Four Seasons actually had a #62 charting song in 1956 entitled "You're The Apple Of My Eye". However, the group at the time was called the Four Lovers. Before that, they were known as the Variatones. However, in the intervening six years, there were personel changes and a lot of club dates before they became an "overnight success" in 1962. From Quiz Where Were You In '62?

Answer: Green Onions

Booker T. & the M.G.'s were the house band for Stax Records and they played on hundreds of recordings by artists such as Wilson Pickett, Otis Redding and Sam & Dave, just to name a few. In their spare time they released recordings under their own name, with "Green Onions" being their biggest hit. The single peaked at number three on the Billboard Hot 100 from 1962.

18. Is this deja vu or is it happening again? I'm sure this dance record was number one on the Billboard Hot 100 15 months ago but here it is again at number one. What is the title of this record?

From Quiz That Was The Year That Was: Pop Music 1962
