Ori Games Trivia Questions

1. When you complete the prologue, you'll need to find your way to the Spirit Tree in what location?

From Quiz
Progress in "The Blind Forest"

Answer: Hollow Grove

Navigating Ori to the Hollow Grove may prove a bit tough if you're visiting the Blind Forest for the first time as it involves finding your way through the Sunken Glades first, and with minimal skills at your disposal, it can prove to be a bit challenging. That said, by the time you make your way to where you need to be, you'll have obtained the Wall Jump, a necessary skill, especially in the early game, and it will get you to where you need to be. The Spirit Tree is, of course, the source of light and life in the forest. While the ancient one won't have anything tangible to give Ori from the outset, it will point the way to the three elements of balance needed to complete the quest.

2. Ori will depart on his own when who passes away?

From Quiz Ori and the Blind Forest

Answer: Naru

In the game's prologue, Ori will be brought in by Naru after being cast away by the Spirit Tree during the Great Storm. One fateful night, Naru will hide Ori away from the Spirit Tree's great light, but a blight will be placed upon the land. Naru will perish in the resulting drought and it will spark Ori's adventure. The first step of that, following the prologue in the Swallow's Nest, will lead Ori to the Spirit Tree proper and lay out the quest for the rest of the game.

3. Who steals the Water Vein, taking it to the Moon Grotto?

From Quiz Progress in "The Blind Forest"

Answer: Gumo

Heading into the Spider Coves you'll undoubtedly locate the spirit in possession of the Charge Flame, and with this you can head onward to the Ginso Tree, the site of the Element of Water. Upon reaching the right spot, however, Ori will encounter the corrupted Gumo, who will steal away with a Water Vein and descend into the dangerous Moon Grotto with it. There's no progressing without it, so it's up to you to brave the unstoppable laser blasts and crushing stones and reclaim it to head onward.

4. What is the name of the land featured in "Ori and the Blind Forest"?

From Quiz Ori and the Blind Forest

Answer: Nibel

Before even reaching the Spirit Tree, Ori will come across Sein, the light and eyes of the Spirit Tree, and Ori will be able to progress and grow using light and ability points. Doing this will help Ori explore Nibel, a vast land of tight passages and several ecosystems. There are also Map Stones, ancient markers created to chart the forests of Nibel as it grew in its more prosperous days. If you find Map Stone Fragments, you can repair the larger stones to unveil swaths of the map....except for any secret areas.

5. The Water Vein, needed to access the Ginso Tree, must be inserted back into its spot in what region?

From Quiz Progress in "The Blind Forest"

Answer: Thornfelt Swamp

The journey to find the Water Vein will drop Ori into the treacherous caves known as Gumo's Hideout (in the Moon Grotto), and to get out you have to find an Ancestral Tree containing the light powers for Double Jump (you can get Triple Jump with enough Ability Points!). The Double Jump skill will allow Ori to climb back up out of the grotto and help Gumo who, when he's freed from under a boulder, will hand over the gemstone and help instead of hinder the hero. You can then return to Thornfelt, put the Water Vein into the entry of the Ginso Tree, and enter.

6. What skill does Ori obtain in the Ginso Tree?

From Quiz Progress in "The Blind Forest"

Answer: Bash

The Ginso Tree is the first dungeon to enter in the game, and when you do you can collect the Bash attack that will allow Ori to ascend to the top and rid the tree of the corruption blocking off the Element of Water. Once the Heart of the Ginso Tree is rid of its poison and decay, the blight will be removed and water will rush in, forcing Ori to escape out the top. Unfortunately, Kuro will be there, waiting, and Ori will need to make a daring escape by leaping down to the ground. He'll survive, only to be saved by Gumo.

7. Life Cells increase health. What replenishes health?

From Quiz Ori and the Blind Forest

Answer: Life Shards

Life Cells are green orbs that can be found in alcoves and hidden areas throughout Nibel, and Ori can collect a total of fifteen of them throughout the game (for a maximum total of eighteen cells). Different enemies and environmental hazards will do more damage the further you progress, so it's highly recommended to seek these out wherever possible. Life Shards replenish vitality and they can be found from certain enemies and green plants. Spirit Wells can also replenish these if Ori is weary.

8. Soul Links are used to create game saves. What do you need to make one?

From Quiz Ori and the Blind Forest

Answer: Energy

While Life Cells will be one half of Ori's status bar, the other half will be composed of blue cells known as Energy Cells. Again, the game starts with three of them, and collecting cells will help increase the total amount for multiple purposes. Energy can be used to create Soul Links from which Ori can upgrade abilities. Additionally, energy is required to create Charge Flames. A Soul Link can only be created if Ori hasn't created one immediately before; a timer needs to reset before another can be made. Energy fragments can be found on certain enemies and from blue crystals.

9. If Ori dies, where will he respawn?

From Quiz Ori and the Blind Forest

Answer: A Soul Link

Although the most recent Soul Link is the likely case, Ori can respawn at the Spirit Tree or at a Spirit Well provided the opportunity was taken to save at either one. This being said, they are not the default checkpoint; Ori can create a Soul Link on any flat, safe ground to ensure that if he dies, he can come back without having the retrace steps. The fortunate thing with this, as well, is that creation of a Soul Link (which uses a small bit of energy) also replenishes a portion of life. Your respawns are tracked on the pause screen.

10. How many Ability Tracks can you upgrade?

From Quiz Ori and the Blind Forest

Answer: Three & 3

There are three tracks to follow when upgrading Ori's capabilities, each of which follows a different aspect of play. The first track involves power and upgrades Ori's attacks and skills; the second track involves sensing and reacting to the environment; the third involves technique and unique skills (including triple jumps and swimming). Abilities can be upgraded using Ability Points obtained by collecting smaller and larger Ability Cells, the sizes of which will vary when picked up from enemies or when found on the map (often in hidden alcoves).

11. How many passages need to be blocked in Mount Horu to gain access to its depths?

From Quiz Progress in "The Blind Forest"

Answer: Eight

It's off to the Hollow Grove to gain entry to Mount Horu as soon as the Sunstone is in Ori's hands, and it's there that the final element, Nibel's source of warmth, must be collected. All the while, Naru and Gumo head into the heat of the volcano searching for Ori as well, pressing on to reach Naru's surrogate child. In Mount Horu, the aim is to ascend to the top and stop the lava floes at different tiers of the dungeon (using Sein's light and different mechanisms). In the ninth room, at the bottom of the volcano, Ori can collect and save the Element of Warmth...just as Kuro arrives.

12. As the game comes to a close, who ultimately returns the light to the Spirit Tree?

From Quiz Ori and the Blind Forest

Answer: Kuro

The end of the game features a chase through the depths of Mount Horu while Kuro pursues Ori through some of the most concerning obstacles thus far. Ori will barely make it out alive only to be saved and embraced by Naru who, earlier, was resurrected by Gumo. Kuro, seeing the love between them, realizes that her final egg is in danger of the encroaching fires and returns the light to the Spirit Tree, sacrificing herself to save her unhatched child. Ori, Naru, and Gumo will survive to live in a revived Swallow's Nest as Kuro's egg, now in the safety of Naru's cave, will start to break open.
