"Phantom Slayer" is one of the forerunners of the FPS genre, released for the TRS-80 Color Computer and Dragon 32/64, where the player fights phantoms in a randomly-generated maze, knowing where they are only when a certain sound plays indicating the imminent proximity of the enemy.

'Theme Park World' was released in 1999 by Electronic Arts as a follow up to the popular 1994 game 'Theme Park'. It was originally released for only for Windows PCs but a Mac version and console versions for the PlayStation and PlayStation 2 followed. The game tasks players with creating and running their own theme park. It is quite an accessible simulator being aimed at children as much as adults. "Buzzy" is a black ball who sits at the top of the screen and gives the player advice, informs them of problems and congratulates them when they do something well.

CTU and UNIT hail from the TV shows "24" and "Doctor Who" respectively. The Umbrella Corporation is the infamous bioengineering pharmaceutical company in the "Resident Evil" series. Third Echelon is based on the real-life ECHELON, which is rumored to be an international intelligence gathering network.

'SimCopter' is a helicopter simulation game developed by Maxis and released in 1996. The player is control of a helicopter and must carry out jobs around the city, these include fire fighting, medical evacuations and riot control. 'Simlish' is a nonsense language which was developed through experimentation with fractured Ukrainian, French, Latin, Finnish, English, Fijian, Cebuano, and Tagalog. Originally the idea had been to create 'Simlish' by playing with the Navajo language but it was decided that a nonsense language would leave what was being said was left to the player's imagination. Although it made its debut in 'SimCopter' 'Simlish' is more commonly heard in 'The Sims' series of games.

Hammer Bros. are the Koopa that relish throwing hammers at players who come near them, and Pidgits are the small birds that soar the skies atop magic carpets. Lakitus usually appear as referees or ball-retrievers in the Mario sports games, and were also friendly in "Super Mario 64", following Mario with a video camera wherever he went.

"Guerrilla War" was originally titled "Guevara" in Japan, and dealt with the defeat of the Batista regime in the '40s Cuba. SNK, the game's publisher and developed decided to alter the title and content when it brought it to the US, in order to avoid controversy. "Mercs" for the Sega Genesis featured counter-terrorist units rescuing the President in the fictional African nation of Zutulu. "The Peace Keepers" was a beat'em-up for the SNES with a story set in 2015, with four main characters seeking revenge during the aftermath of global economic wars. "Just Cause" for the 360, Xbox, PS2 and PC is about a CIA-sponsored guerrilla war on a fictional South American nation with the goal of overthrowing that country's dictator. The cover for "Just Cause" mimics the iconic photograph of "Che" Guevara.

'Pro Cycling Manager 2013' is the latest in a series of cycling management games developed by the French company Cyanide. It is the official PC game of the Tour de France with a new version of the game being released each year at the same time as the Tour. The player takes on the role of a "directeur sportif" with a professional cycling team and must manage the team successfully in order to win races.

The Fierce Deity's Mask allows Link to transform into Oni Link, an extremely powerful adult version of Link that uses no shield, opting instead for a giant, helix-shaped two-handed sword. Majora's Mask is the one that possesses Skull Kid turning him into the main antagonist of the game. The Garo Mask allows Link entry to Ikana Canyon and the ability to encounter and fight Garo Ninjas. The Skull mask is used as part of a quest and makes Keeses (the enemy bats) harmless.

The 2013 release of 'SimCity' had been highly praised for its graphics and game play in the media and at conventions prior to its release, however following release there were major problems with the game. These problems primarily related to the need for a continuous connection to EA's servers in order to play the game but EA did not have the necessary server capacity for the number of players wishing to play the game resulting in problems and network outages for players.
