1. Which of these is NOT one of the creators of the source code for Merc?

Answer: Blade

Blade is NOT one of the original coders. He is a character of mine on several MUDS.

2. Which of these is not a stock area?

Answer: The Treetops

The Treetops is an area I made up.

3. Which of these is NOT a command for moving in a direction?

Answer: Levitate

Levitate is a spell on some MUDs, others may have Fly. However, it is not a directional command.

4. What command would you use to leave a DikuMUD without going linkdead?

Answer: Quit

If you simply close the window, you will go linkdead on a DikuMUD. This means, you will not see the window, but your character will still be in the MUD.

5. Which command would you use to change the prompt in a DikuMUD?

Answer: Prompt

Prompt will change your prompt, obviously. Change prompt, Adjust and Switch do nothing.

6. In a player-killing MUD, what command would you use to attack another player?

Answer: Murder

"You must MURDER another player". Kill is for killing monsters, Slay is an Immortal or Wizard command. Delete will restart your character from scratch.

7. What command would you use to see statistics for your character?

Answer: Score

Score shows a ton of information on your character. The others don't do anything.

Answer: None, it's a text-based game

There ARE some MUDS with graphics, but not many, and no free ones, as far as I'm aware.

9. What is the highest rank for most DikuMuds?

Answer: IMP

The person who started the MUD is normally granted this title first. GOD is a lower level, Top Dude is a made up one, of course, and ACE is another made up one.

10. Which standard Windows program can be used to connect to a MUD?

Answer: Telnet

Telnet is used for connecting to remote computers and servers, Notepad is a basic text editor, Paint is used for making images, and Word is an advanced word processor.
