Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Vehicle for carrying loads + Circular object on an axle = Sideways handspring

Answer: Cartwheel

A cartwheel is a circular sideways handspring where legs and hands are extended. People try to break the current "Guinness Book of World Records" for the most cartwheels and the record of sixty-seven cartwheels in a sixty second time-frame, was completed by Gaber Kahlwai Gaber Ali in Giza, Egypt, on March 29th, 2015.

According to the "Guinness Book of World Records", an applicant looking to break the record has to be over sixteen years of age and "a cartwheel begins with the participant standing upright. They then bend to one side and place the hand of the same side on the ground, followed by the other hand. The legs then kick over the body and come back down to the ground as the body returns to a standing position" ("Guinness Book of Records" website).
2. Intended to belong to + Acquire = Opposite of remember

Answer: Forget

To forget means to fail to remember or to overlook or neglect. The word is from the Old English 'forgietan'. It is paired with the word forgive to form the phrase 'forgive and forget', meaning to give leniency and understanding when someone has done a wrong and to move on and not dwell on the act that was wrong. To forgive and forget is strongly implied in the Bible but not written specifically as a phrase, a written example of the phrase is in "Don Quixote" by Miguel de Cervantes: "Let us forget and forgive injuries."
3. Area below the stomach when sitting + Apex = Portable computer

Answer: Laptop

A laptop (also known as a notebook) is a small portable computer, typically with a screen, built in keyboard and a trackball for a mouse. They are meant to be taken with you and used in different environments, so they're perfect for students or mobile workers.

They also have a battery to enable mobility. The first laptop was invented in 1981 by Adam Osborne and was called the "Osborne 1", it cost $1795.
4. Precipitation + Weapon to shoot arrows = Multicolored arc

Answer: Rainbow

A rainbow is a meteorological phenomenon resulting in an arc shaped spectrum of color in the sky. Rainbows can be circular in shape however observers will usually only see half the rainbow. There are several different types of rainbows, including the primary rainbow in which the outer color shows red and the inner side shows violet.

There is a double rainbow in which a second arc is seen and there is also a rare twinned rainbow when two rainbow arcs split from a singular base. Rainbows can also be formed by light from the moon and these are called lunar rainbows or moonbows.
5. Bee bite + Stream of light = Marine animal

Answer: Stingray

A stingray is a fish that is related to a shark which are common in coastal tropical and subtropical waters throughout the world. There are approximately 220 known species of stingrays in the world and unfortunately they are becoming endangered because of unregulated fishing.

Despite the very high profile and tragic death of Australian wildlife expert Steve Irwin in 2006, stingray fatalities are extremely rare and stingrays are not typically aggressive toward humans unless provoked or attacked. In 2006, Irwin was filming and approached a stingray which appeared to behave in a defensive manner and stabbed at him, piercing his heart. Sadly in the weeks following his death, dead stingrays were found along the beaches of Queensland with their tails chopped off prompting the executive director of the Wildlife Warrior fund to condemn the acts.
6. Era + What an actor learns = Schedule of events

Answer: Timeline

A timeline is a list of events in chronological order. Popular use is to show historical events in order and in business to help projects stay organized and on track. A popular type of timeline used in project management is a Gantt chart, which is a bar chart, named after its inventor, Henry Gantt.

This type of chart shows activities and dates along a series of bars so that it is easy to see the interdependencies of the activities as well as to track the progress of the activities.
7. Small green vegetable + Male chicken = Bird with beautiful plumage

Answer: Peacock

A male peafowl is called a peacock, a female peafowl is called a peahen, although both males and females are usually both just called a peacock. Peacocks are known for their beautiful plumage and I always thought that the reason for it was to attract females, as suggested by Charles Darwin however the reason for the plumage is debated among scientists.

In his handicap theory, Amotz Zahavi suggested that the plumage is a sign of the fitness level of the males because only the strongest and fittest would be able to survive with such extravagant, heavy feathers.
8. To cut + Small pieces of wood = Eating utensil

Answer: Chopsticks

Chopsticks are wooden sticks of equal length that are used as eating utensils that have been used in East Asia for thousands of years. They were first used by the Chinese, are smooth, often tapered and can be made from a variety of different material including bamboo, wood, metal, ivory and in more modern times material such as plastic or stainless steel.

Originally they were used as cooking utensils, for stirring food or fire or grabbing food that was too hot to handle before serving it. They began to be used as eating utensils during the Han Dynasty (202 BC - 220 AD).
9. Vehicle + Domesticated animal = Floor covering

Answer: Carpet

Carpet is a textile covering of a floor, consisting of an upper layer called a pile and a backing. Traditionally the pile was made from wool but from the twentieth century on has more often been made from synthetic materials such as polypropylene, nylon or polyester. Carpet is a choice of floor covering for people because it helps to reduce noise, provides insulation and is comfortable.

They can come in various sizes, colors, patterns and decorations, adding to a particular aesthetic for a room in a house.

They are also used commercially, particularly in hotels.
10. Body part that contain fingers + Ends of sleeves = Lockable metal rings

Answer: Handcuffs

Handcuffs are a restraint device, placed around the wrists and then locked so that the secured wrists are in close proximity to each other and the arms can not move freely. They are mostly used by law enforcement and are meant to be temporary constraints only.

They're also commonly used by magicians and escape artists in their acts, such as Houdini. In 2014, Danilo Audiello from Italy escaped from double locked handcuffs in just 0.91 seconds!
