Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. After the flop: What are the chances of someone improving their hand with 6 outs? (The number of outs is the number of cards in the deck that will improve your hand.)

Answer: 24.1%

You might want to remember this if you didn't catch anything on the flop and are hoping to make at least a pair on the turn or river.
2. After the turn: What is the probability of improving your hand with only 2 outs?

Answer: 4.3%

Whenever you have a pocket pair, this is the probability that you'll have 3 of a kind after the river.
3. After the flop: What are the chances that you'll improve your hand if you have 14 outs?

Answer: 51.2%

Usually people don't have this many outs, but I have seen it before. If you are in this situation, it's basically a "coin flip" determining whether or not you make your hand (about a 50-50 chance).
4. After the turn: What are the chances that your hand will improve if you have 4 outs?

Answer: 8.7%

Sometimes you have four outs after the turn when you have an inside straight draw. You would have what is known as a "gapped straight" Example: 6-7-X-9-10 (An 8 is needed to complete the straight).
5. After the flop: What is the probability that you'll improve your hand if you only have 2 outs?

Answer: 8.4%

When holding a pocket pair, if making three of a kind is the only way you can win a hand, then you have an 8.4% chance in getting 3 of a kind.
6. Let's change things up a bit. If you flopped three of a kind, what are the chances that you'll get 4 of a kind?

Answer: 4.3%

If you flop three of a kind (also known as "trips" or "a set"), it's probably best not to hope for four of a kind. It usually doesn't happen.
7. You have just flopped an inside straight flush draw. What are the chances that your hand will improve to either a straight, a flush, or a straight flush on the turn and/or river?

Answer: 45.0%

If you flop an inside straight flush draw, that means you have 12 outs. You are pretty likely to get that straight or flush, but you most likely won't make the straight flush.
8. You have just flopped an open ended straight draw (you have 4 cards in consecutive order). The turn didn't improve your hand. What is the probability that you will complete your straight?

Answer: 17.4%

In this case, you would have eight outs to complete your hand, but it's not likely that you'll complete the straight.
9. You've just flopped a flush draw (Four cards of the same suit). What are the chances that you'll complete your flush on the turn or river?

Answer: 35.0%

If you flopped a flush draw, that means you have 9 outs to complete your hand (There are 13 cards of a certain suit. Since you have 4 to the flush, that means there are 9 cards left in the deck with the same suit).
10. Your opponent is all in, and you call his bet. Your opponent shows that he's holding two Queens, while you only have a pair of Tens. The flop doesn't improve anyone's hand, but then the turn is a ten. What are the chances that your opponent will win the hand on the river?

Answer: 4.5%

Your opponent would only have 2 cards left in the deck that could save him (the 2 remaining Queens). Most likely, you'd win the hand.
