Soap was first produced in ancient Babylon around 2800BC. It was created using water, alkali and cassia oil.

Cleansing soap is made from animal or vegetable fat combined with a strong alkaline solution.

Deodorant has a very long history. It was first invented in Spain during the ninth century. The late 1970s, however, saw the invention of the most popular and widely-used personal hygiene product: the deodorant stick.

Perfume is usually restricted to small glass bottles, not large spray cans.
