Answer: Panhandle Plains

Piney Woods is the eastern part of the state. Huntsville and Texarkana are there. Coastal Plains is down around the gulf. Corpus Christi is a Coastal Plains city. Big Bend is FAR west Texas. El Paso is the best known city here. The Panhandle Plains is in the "obviously" panhandle part of the state. Amarillo is also in the Panhandle Plains, but it is 120 miles North of Lubbock. Texas is a big state!
2. What Division I University calls Lubbock home?

Answer: Texas Tech University

Rice is in Houston. Baylor is in Waco. And although I consider Texas Tech to be THE university of Texas, the other school that calls itself that is in Austin. Go Red Raiders!
3. Who is Lubbock's most famous son?

Answer: Buddy Holly

The Big Bopper who along with Richie Valens died in the Iowa plane crash with Buddy Holly is from South Texas. Richie is from California, and Bo Diddley is from Mississippi. Buddy was born in Lubbock on September 7, 1936.
4. Who else hails from Lubbock?

Answer: Mac Davis

Mac Davis was born in January of 1942 in Lubbock. Willie Nelson is a fellow Texan, just not from Lubbock. Glen Campbell is from Arkansas and Kenny Rogers is from Texas, too. He's from Houston.

Yes, our Natalie really raised a ruckus with her comments about George Bush. However you believe though, you can't deny her talent. Beyonce (another Texan) leads Destiny's Child. No Doubt is fronted by Gwen Stefani, and SHeDAISY is a group of sisters from Utah.
