Dante Alighieri was born in Florence in 1265 and died in Ravenna, where he was buried, in 1321. He was exiled from Florence in 1302 while he was in Rome for an embassy and he could not see his hometown anymore.

Adige is the second longest river in Italy. Arno is the river that flows through Florence and Pisa (4th longest). Tiber is the river of Rome (3rd longest).

Answer: Turin then Florence

Turin was capital from 1861 until 1865, then Florence from 1865 until 1870. All Italians wanted Rome as the capital city, so Florence became a middle step from Turin to Rome.
