Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Alex's fellow race day spotter, Gobbles, gets trapped in Huevo Racing's hauler and calls Alex for help. Who is the sponsor of Huevo Racing?

Answer: Lube-a-Lot

The Number 69, Lube-a-Lot car belongs to Dickie Bonnano (otherwise known as Spanky) and, in turn, belongs to Huevo Racing. Yum Yum Snack Cakes is the sponsor of the team that Gobbles works for, Stiller Racing is who Hooker and Alex work for and Nutsy (who is mentioned later in the book) drives for Krank's Beer.
2. Alex and Hooker, after stealing the hauler to rescue Gobbles, decide to hide it in a fruit storage warehouse borrowed from their friend Felicia Ibarra. Alex tells readers that the warehouse can hold six eighteen-wheelers, or how many oranges?

Answer: A kajillion

The fruit warehouse is owned by Felicia and her husband and is one of several owned by them. It is only used occasionally for storage of fruit but it mostly lays empty and unused, the perfect place to hide a 'borrowed' NASCAR hauler.
3. What fell out of the locker when Alex was in it?

Answer: A shrink-wrapped dead body

Alex was in the hauler looking for a jumpsuit so she wouldn't get her clothes dirty when she started dismantling the cars stored in the hauler. The shrink-wrapped body turned out to be Oscar Huevo, head honcho of Huevo Racing. Felicia noted that the "shrink-wrapped corpse looks a lot like 180 pounds of raw chicken parts packaged for supermarket bulk sales", except for maybe the bullet hole in the middle of his forehead.
4. When Huevo Motor Sports found their 'hauler, how did they know that Alex and Hooker had 'borrowed' it?

Answer: They accidentally left Hooker's dog in the hauler

After stripping down the truck so it was unrecognisable, and dismantling both cars stored inside the hauler, Alex and Hooker drove the hauler to a mall and left it there for the Huevo team to find. They realised the next morning that they had left Hooker's dog (Beans, the Saint Bernard) asleep in the hauler.
5. Where did Alex and Hooker end up finding the 'more important' chip in the car?

Answer: In the gear knob

After finding a destroyed chip on the cover of the engine, Alex accidentally found the 'more important' chip in the gear knob when she dismantled the car. Alex and Hooker took the chip home to North Carolina with them for one of Alex's acquaintances to look at.
6. Sikulski was Alex's acquaintance who got asked to look at the chip that was found in the Huevo Racing car. What weakness did Alex exploit so he would help at Thanksgiving?

Answer: A new computer problem and cheesecake

After looking at the two chips (both the broken one found on the engine of the Huevo Racing car and the in-tact one found in the gear knob) Sikulski figured out what they could be hypothetically used for (traction control, which is banned in NASCAR racing). The more important (or "scary") chip was the one found in the gear knob as it could be activated by anyone outside the car via a remote control.
7. Alex and Hooker try to find Huevo Racing's spotter, Bernie Miller, to ask him a few questions. Where do they find him?

Answer: In the trunk of a Lexus at a shopping mall

Alex and Hooker saw two 'bad guys' leaving Bernie Miller's house. They were acting quite suspiciously so they followed them to a mall where they found Bernie in the trunk, full of bullet holes. Further on in the story, they find him again buried in a shallow grave near a warehouse that Hooker owns.
8. Alex and Hooker were wanted for multiple murders so needed a quiet place to stay the night. Hooker's old school friend, Ralph, came to the rescue, but where did they end up sleeping at Ralph's place?

Answer: The pool table

Ralph's guest room was unavailable as he was re-building a Harley in there because he had no garage. Alex and Hooker started out double-decker on the lounge but when Beans (the dog) jumped on top as well, it was too much for them to handle. Alex and Hooker ended up spending the night on the pool table.
9. Hooker got himself kidnapped but Alex was unable to ransom the chip for him straight away. Why?

Answer: She thought that Beans, the dog, ate the chip

Felicia thought that Beans had eaten the chip when she had left it on the kitchen bench. Rosa, Felicia and Alex needed to wait until Beans was ready to go to the 'bathroom' before they could get the chip back. A box of prunes helped although they did originally have to be hidden in a meatball sub for Beans to eat them. It turns out that Beans hadn't actually eaten the chip; it had fallen on Felicia's floor.
10. Suzanne helped Alex out on this adventure, both inadvertently giving her information and actually being quite a big help. How did Suzanne become involved in the adventure?

Answer: She was Oscar Huevo's soon-to-be ex-wife

Suzanne was Oscar Huevo's soon-to-be ex-wife and she was really angry that someone had beaten her to it and killed Oscar. She also thought that Ray (Oscar's brother) was defrauding the Huevo company and wouldn't leave anything for her kids. Suzanne and Itsy Poo (Suzanne's miniature dog) were quite helpful in giving Alex information and, in the end, being one of the 'good guys'.
