Answer: Inuzuka Tsume

Inuzuka Tsume is the mother of Kiba and Hana. Kiba's dad - unlike most of the other dads - has never appeared in the manga, and when Tsume claims she scared one of Pein's bodies away, Kiba thinks that she did the same thing to his father. Kuromaru, incidentally, is Tsume's dog - a big wolf-dog with an eyepatch.

Answer: Hyuuga Hiashi

Hyuuga Hiashi is the father of Hinata - who he sees as weak and not worthy of becoming his heir - and Hanabi, and the uncle of Neji. He is the head of the Hyuga clan and a member of its main house, while his younger brother, Hizashi, was in the branch house.

Although Neji grew up believing that his father was forced to sacrifice himself to Kumogakure (the village responsible for Hinata's kidnapping), Hiashi tells him after the Chuunin Exams that Hizashi chose to go to Kumogakure in order to protect his brother and change his destiny.

Answer: Uchiha Mikoto

Uchiha Mikoto is the wife of Fugaku, the head of the Uchiha clan and Konoha's police force, and the mother of Sasuke and Itachi. Fugaku may have favoured Itachi over Sasuke somewhat, but this didn't help him in the long run, as both he and Mikoto were killed by Itachi in the Uchiha clan massacre.

Itachi had apparently been behaving rather oddly in the run-up to the event, probably because - despite what he told Sasuke - he had been ordered to kill the clan by the higher-ups in Konoha.

Answer: Nara Shikaku

Nara Shikaku is the father of Shikamaru and the husband of Yoshino. His clan herd deer, and among the medicines they make is an antidote for the dangerous soldier pills used by the Akimichi clan. Shikaku is lazy and has a thing for bossy women (much like his son, in fact), but he's also extremely intelligent and the only person capable of beating Shikamaru at shougi.

More recently, he has been revealed to be a Jounin Commander, and proposed Kakashi for the Sixth Hokage. Unfortunately, he was overruled by the feudal lord of the Land of Fire.

Answer: Karura

This unfortunate woman was Karura, wife of the Fourth Kazekage and mother of Temari, Kankuro and Gaara (the baby in question). The Fourth Kazekage had the One-Tailed Shukaku sealed inside his unborn son in order to turn him into a human weapon, sacrificing Karura in the process. Yashamaru, Karura's brother, raised Gaara while secretly plotting to kill him, as he blamed the child for his sister's death. Yashamaru blew himself up in an attempt to kill Gaara, who was protected by the sand that the Shukaku enabled him to manipulate. Gaara was driven insane as a result, although he changed after his fight with Naruto.

Answer: Yamanaka Inoichi

Yamanaka Inoichi is the father of Ino, and like her is on a team with members of the Nara and Akimichi clans. Ino's mother, who is never seen in the manga or anime, owns Yamanaka Florists, and Ino can sometimes be seen working there. In Part 2, it was revealed that Inoichi is a member of the Interrogation Squad, and uses his telepathic abilities to 'read' the memories of a corpse that had formerly been used as one of Pein's paths.

He was able to deduce that the six paths were being controlled by someone in a high place near Konoha and that Pein could use fresh bodies as his paths.

Answer: Uzumaki Kushina

Uzumaki Kushina was the wife of Namikaze Minato, the Fourth Hokage (aka the 'Yellow Flash'), and the mother of Naruto. Her son's name came from one of Jiraiya's books. Little is known about Kushina - it's not even clear whether she's alive or not - but she was said to be very similar to Naruto in personality and appearance (although her hair is red, whereas Naruto's is blond).

Answer: Akimichi Chouza

Akimichi Chouza is the father of Chouji, and the third member of the original Ino-Shika-Chou trio. In Part 1, Chouji was one of the team sent to find Sasuke, and he was critically injured after taking a red soldier pill that used up a substantial amount of chakra. Fortunately for Chouji, Tsunade was able to save him using medicine prepared by the Nara clan.

In Shippuuden, Chouji, Chouza and Kakashi fought Pein, and Chouza was believed dead after taking a hit from Pein to protect his son. Upon meeting Chouji, Tsunade informed him that his father was still alive.

Answer: Yuuhi Kurenai

The Jounin in question is Yuuhi Kurenai, the sensei of Team 8. The student in question was Hyuuga Hinata, who was entrusted to Kurenai when her father made it clear that he had little use for her. Kurenai is one of the few characters who can use genjutsu (illusions), although the only time she is shown using this ability in the manga, it is against the far more skilled Uchiha Itachi.

She is later revealed to be in a relationship with Sarutobi Asuma, Team 10's sensei, and is pregnant with his child. Asuma is killed by Hidan of Akatsuki, and Shikamaru promises to take on Kurenai and Asuma's child when it comes of age.

Answer: Haku

The bloodline limit in question was the ability to manipulate ice, which little Haku got from his mother. His mother was shocked to see him display it, as she did not want his father to know, but unfortunately, his father saw everything. He killed her, and the rest is history; the boy later grew up to be the tool of the rogue swordsman Momochi Zabuza, and encountered our hero and his team mates in the Land of Waves arc.
