Bio: I'm a freelance translator based in Manchester, UK. I discovered this site after browsing the internet when I had swine flu in 2009, and have not looked back since. I am a huge fan of Elinor M Brent-Dyer's 'Chalet School' series; if you play a 'Chalet School' quiz, there is a good chance it was written by me. I'm also an Evertonian and a Wednesdayite (long story).

'The Shipping News' by E. Annie Proulx is set in the province of Newfoundland, and tells the story of Quoyle, a downtrodden journalist who moves there with his aunt and children. To spice up the quiz a bit, I've added some photos.
